First you have to call Floyd out to land a fight with him. Then you have to have a huge fan base. Then you must have a good PPV record. Now, you must be ITCHING? Damn, it's so hard to land a mega fight with Floyd. Ortiz is so damn lucky he's a young hungry lion.

Let me see if I understand you. Floyd calls Cotto out. Floyd ducked him. Cotto never expressed any real interest in fighting Floyd. But Floyd still ducked him.:think

Is that how it works in the sport of Boxing nowadays?

So, it is the duty of ALL other fighters to call him out if they want to fight? Because, seriously, I dont remember these fighters calling him out:

    Michael Jennings
    Alfonso Gomez
    Zab judah
    Yuri Forman
    Manny Pac
    Oktay Urkal
    Joshua Clottey
    Ricardo Torres
    Carlos Quintana

But I remember these guys calling him out:
    Sergio MArtinez at 154
    Paul Williams
    Kermit Cintron
    Vanes Martosiyan

It's funny, it seems like the only way to get a fight with Cotto is to not call him out!:deal

your reply didn't answer what i was trying to get into which is, is this another one of floyd's duck move??

choosing an easier fight against cotto in 2006-2007 instead of the tougher Margo who Arum/TR was pushing at that time.

when is timeline for this request ?

What evidence is there that Cotto was remotely interested in fighting Floyd?

So, you would consider Cotto to be a lesser fighter than Margo??

Especially after the whole cheating Scandal??

To answer your question, Floyd asked for 10 million a piece to fight either Cotto or Margo in 2006-2007. Arum said no, he is on record as saying he did not think it was worth it. He only wanted to give Floyd 8 million for MArgo, but wanted to lock him into a TR contract. And Arum refused to make the DLH fight, which was the one Floyd really wanted.

Floyd instead fought Baldo for the lineal title and more money, then moved up to fight DLH at 154 in the biggest fight ever.

The first time Mayweather offered a fight with Cotto was when they were both 140pders. Cotto sat ring side for both Mayweather's fights vs Bruceless and Gatti. Cotto was #3 in ring magazine behind Hatton and Mayweather.

The second time was directly after the Judah fight. Mayweather offered Arum a contract to fight Margarito, Cotto, Hatton, De La Hoya.

Both offers were denied. First Cotto wasn't ready and second Arum didn't want to give Mayweather any guranteed money higher then 7mil.

First of all, I got more posts that you, and you call me a noob?:rofl:rofl:rofl

Secondly, people act as if Cotto desperately tried to fight Floyd. Did he ever try to pursue that fight? In 2006, 2007, 2008, or 2009??

Hell, he could try to pursue it now, if he wanted to. But he isnt.

People act as if Cotto was just waiting for Floyd. Having never called Floyd out, or really spoke about him at any length, what makes you think he really wanted Floyd?
