I think Morales' close defeats to David Diaz and Maidana have elevated his stock recently. This came when Morales was fighting out in his fourth and fifth weight classes well past his best. Barrera also has two embarrassing losses in his prime which the other two don't. I think that hurts him a lot.

How Highly would these three be regarded if they were born a little farther up the coast?

Morales and Barrera's resumes aren't significantly better than Marquez's. Did everyone forget Marquez fought Floyd Mayweather Jr., one of the best fighters of our generation? And after the November bout is in the books, he will have fought Pacquiao three times, just like Morales.

I like Barrera a lot, but he got destroyed twice. The first was against Jones and the 2nd was to Pacquiao. That has to definitely weigh into the equation.

Would be like trying to talk about the greatness of Roberto Duran without mentioning SRL at some point, Pac is part of all their legacies (and they a part of his) in some way or another.

I was referring to the manner in which Barrera was defeated. I saw parts of the John fight and it was a very dull fight. I haven't watched the entire fight so I can't say JMM was robbed which most people seem to think.

Those 2 were very close. Only Floyd has beaten him clearly, and I suspect Pac is gonna stop Marquez on November, 1st ever.

Marquez did indeed fight Floyd Mayweather and he failed to win a single solitary round. Epic. Furthermore, he has fought Manny Pacquiao twice, and he is yet to record a win over the Filipino. Again, epic.

Let's talk "wins" and get back to me.

MAB is the best p4p in all their respective primes, but EM is much more loved and JMM will be better remembered for the Pac fights. If he beats Pac it's all over, JMM will be #1.
