    Just reported on Fight Saga.

    Amir Khan (26-1, 18 KO) will put his WBA and IBF light welterweight titles on the line against Lamont Peterson (29-1-1, 15 KO) on December 10.

    Peterson, who will certainly be an underdog, is almost guaranteed to bring more to the fight than did Zab Judah in his recent embarrassing loss to Amir Khan. HBO will televise the contest.

    has struggled since his December 12, 2009 loss to Timothy Bradley. Peterson was dropped in the third round on the way to an unanimous decision loss. He went on to defeat Damian Fuller by way of seventh round TKO, only to settle for a draw against Victor Ortiz. Peterson was sent to the canvas twice in the third round by Ortiz, which speaks well of Peterson's grit. Had he managed to avoid one of those falls he likely would have prevented this weekend's bout between Ortiz and Mayweather.

    Peterson further demonstrated his determination against Victor Manuel Cayo on July 29th, 2011. A knockout with fourteen seconds left in the fight rejuvenated his image and put him in position to negotiate a deal with

    Fights in December appear to be jinxed for Peterson, particularly in the third round. Perhaps of greater concern is the blinding speed of Khan, which might deliver an overhand right or two.

    This may well be the last opportunity for anyone to take these titles from Khan in the ring, as he is expected to abandon them and matriculate to the welterweight division after fighting Peterson.

    surprisingly a lot of yanks like peterson in this one, excuse my ignorance i haven't seen many Peterson fights but the few I have seen khan shouldn't have too much to be concerned about?

    Actually a good fight! Remember he had a draw with the guy about to go to battle with Floyd. Many say Ortiz is now highly ranked p4p so you kind of have to rate Peterson hahahaha all joking aside he is a solid fighter and a good final fight at 140.

    I guess this means Morales vs Maidana or Matthysse in December (If Morales wins on Saturday) Much better than Morales vs Bradley.

    Khan should beat Peterson but at least Peterson brings a different style than past opponents, it will be interesting to see if Khan does well against someone silmilar in Height and reach to him. Would have Preferred Khan vs Maidana or Matthysse but i knew that wouldn't happen.

    Lamont seemed to come of age in his last fight against a good slick boxer in cayo. For the weight class he certainly has above average power having dropped the likes of bradley but nothing like maidana. He is a well schooled boxer who can do a bit of everything. All in all its a decent fight and probably the best we could expect as khan just doesn't want to fight maidana again and isn't ready to risk it with the big guys up at 147.

    It'll be intresting to see how morales vs cano works out, if cano wins it may change things with the opportunity for khan to pick up the WBC belt.

    Considering Bradley isn't interested, it's not a bad fight TBH. I would have preferred Mattysse but he still owes Morales a date. He already beat Maidana so no point in a rematch for me, unless he was to beat Matty at a later date.

    Khan stops him earlish for me, around the 6th. Too fast for Peterson

    my only complaint really is that it seems pointless. he's already said that he is moving up to 147 after this fight, and seeing as peterson doesn't have a belt or any real significance, then why doesn't he just move up now?

    i really don't see the point. move up to welter and make some noise there.

    Not saying he's a carbon-copy or even close to being on the same level, but Peterson may present Khan with similar problems that Mayweather will (mover, defence, counter-puncher, etc). One of the main reasons why I think Ortiz will be embarrassed by Mayweather, is because Peterson - a far lesser version of Mayweather - tamed him to a draw.

    It's just another style for Khan to get familiar with, I suppose.

    i still think a Bradley fight is possible next year.

    If Mayweather vs Pacquiao gets made its the biggest fight for Khan.
