It's down on boxrec as a draw:

Shame the secretary of the BBBofC doesn't know the rules.

I don't understand this. I knew the ref was supposed to decide who goes through if it's a draw but what's the deal with the ref's scorecard? Does this mean that in every prize fighter fight the ref has had his own scorecard which was only read out for the first time last night? And how did he have it 29-28 when there was no other way to score that fight than a draw? I think that's a little too convenient and that he wasn't scoring the fight at all.

I think after Terry O'Connor decided he thought Agyei-Dua should go through they just made up a scorecard to read out. I bet you could have hundreds of clear draws but the referee's deciding "scorecard" would never be a draw.

Not that I think the wrong man went through and I agree you need some arbitrary way of deciding who progresses but don't bull**** us about the ref having a scorecard which can't be a draw.

Why don't they just toss a coin? That would be clear to every one and not suggest a winner and loser in a fight that is a clear draw. It seems to be good enough to decide which sub gets to fight.

You could only argue that if KAD had absolutely and totally dominated the round before being planted on his arse...that wasn't the case. As clear a 10-8 as you can get. Whats the point of putting someone down if you aren't getting your just desserts?

Not saying I thought it was, in the RBR I said it should be a draw. There is however nothing in the rules that says a knockdown must result in a point deduction.

It's for the show, nothing more. The official result is a draw.

No there isn't, but you would have to be either incompetent or corrupt not to score that round 10-8...there has to be some mitigating circumstance for it not to happen and there wasn't one.

That would be pretty lame if that was the case and the reason he did it. A high profile tournament like PF needs transparent rules to cover every occasion...last nights decision seemed Heath Robinson and more than a bit made up on the spot village fete.

Exactly right. I understand there has to be one fighter going out and one fighter going though and that the process to decide that might not be ideal or fair but it at least needs to be set down beforehand.

They should have tossed a coin really - but to be honest I was ****ed !!! No chance I'd have beaten Taylor based on my performance last night but I'm still Improving I feel- my fitness is good and I can start working on my skills rather then just grafting my nuts off all the time
