He was also John Wayne's 'opponent' who died in the ring in 'The Quiet Man'

Kevin Johnson. A disgraceful effort against Vitali puts him as one of the worst for me.

That's right, he was knocked out with a couple of body shots in the 11th.

The worst credentials for a fighter who actually won a belt has to go to Michael bentt. Bentt was 10-1 coming to the Morrison fight, with all his wins coming off fighters with losiing or barely above .500 records. If you're going to mention Okhello, then Carl Davis Drumond, from Costa Rica also deserves mention. Got a title shot against one of the worst beltholders ever in Maskaev, after beating mere cans. He proceeded to lose every round until the fight ended in a technical decision.

Ruiz. A total fraud and a cheater. Had all the skills of a high grade clubfighter, but his illegal tactics got him "wins" he didn't merit on ability.

Sultan wasn't in the best shape, he turned up overweight and looking for an easy knockout. Austin showed a sturdy chin and didn't do too bad, he even dropped a tired Sultan late. Really not a bad fight.

The knockdown Austin got up from early was pretty sick.

    Mike Tyson V Lennox Lewis!
I'm the biggest Tyson fan out there but it was purely a money fight for mike coming off the farcical "World Tour" or whatever the hell you'd like to call it....Julius Francis? Lou Savarese?? Ok Golota was maybe a step in the right direction as regards tune up fights but then he goes to Denmark to fight the human Blimp Brian Neilsen!! Lol! He did, in his defence, try to arrange a real Tune up against Ray Mercer but that fell through for reason's I'm still unsure of for the Lewis fight to happen.

As I said I'm Tyson's biggest fan but because of Tyson's name and name alone did the fight take place....totally undeserving....

Still the best prime head to head in my view.....

Drummond got his shot against Chagaev.

    Jack Roper?
Not a fan of Bill Squires getting 3 chances at the title!
    Brian London?
    Owen Beck?
    Okello Peter?

It's not about how they performed ,it's about their credibility going into the fight.
Jack Finnegan had 11 fights when he challenged Jim Jeffries, he had won 3 ,2 by dsq and 1 by tko over a middleweight, Mike Creedon who was 5-3-0.
Finnegan had been kod by Gus Ruhlin in his last fight [4 rds] and floored 7times during it . At the end, he had to be carried back to his corner.
I submit he is the worst credentialed challenger for the heavyweight title there has ever been.
