Does anyone else think Floyds mindset has changed since the Mosley fight?

All this talk about "I'll take a punch and bounce right back"... is this approach foolish against a relatively good puncher?

Even Floyds sparring partners say his demeanor has been different, he's more offensive minded for this one fight.

Could we see Floyd with a bad gameplan? :think

I still think he'll win either way, but fighting on Ortiz terms may prove foolish, specially at this stage of his career.

I did notice that he brags about taking shots and coming right back, whereas in the past he kept saying, 'there's nothing cool about taking punishment'.

This is why I still think his legs might be slower, not gone but he cant move like he used to.
The gameplan for mosley wasnt the smartest choice imo, the smart move would be moving and potshotting, then he wouldnt have taken those 2 big punches.
Ortiz only has power in this match up, trading with him straight up doesnt seem to be the smartest plan. Even if he pulls it off easy why take the risk?

I think Floyd doesn't have the legs he used to so is partly forced to adapt his style. He did the same thing against Mosley, another big puncher.

I dont think the gameplan for Mosley was wrong. Yes he got caught but Mosley had no answer to floYd pressing the fight.

On the 24/7 I remember Nazim saying that the problem fighting Floyd is when the dragon fires back.

if he got stopped in round 2, wouldnt you say it was the wrong gameplan from mayweather? the smart thing would have been moving and potshotting-mosley tires- then pressure him. just because he dominated doesnt mean it was the best option, thats like saying pac fought a brilliant fight vs mosley.

I think Mayweather's mindset changed a long time ago. He just happened to get caught with a couple of big punches vs Mosley.

I think people read into what Floyd says and does way too much. If he is such a shallow individual as people claim, then why would his words and actions have underlying meanings? Maybe he's just sick of unwarranted criticism and wants to do things his own way.

Maybe he’s reached that point in his career where his body can no longer move around and stay away from a brawl like it used to? I doubt his mindset is that different and that he actually chooses to stand his ground. He just probably knows it’s the only thing he can do now if he wants to avoid exerting lots of energy.

It’s like when Hopkins - right after Pascal II in response to questions about being hit more than normal - claiming he wants to now give fans exciting fights. bull****, Bernard. You just can’t get out of the way of shots like you used to, and are being forced into more dangerous exchanges now. That's all.

Because he said, and I quote:

"I can promise my fans one thing, this WILL BE one of my most exciting fights, neither Ortiz or me will do any backpedalling."

"I take a good shot, you know.. I take a shot and bounce right back, and all of these guys go into survival mode. Victor won't be able to go into survival mode"

Floyd will never change his style to being offensive much more at his age will be too stupid to trade punches with Ortiz. Only a fool can say it's okay to take a punch when you are known a defensive fighter. I hope he should try it though. ;)

I think he's just bent on selling the fight...Floyd comes to fight the way he fights...

He can fight like he did with Baldomir, Hatton, or Mosley..

I see him landing a lot of straight right hands.

We need to see what happens vs ortiz, lets say ortiz is to strong and exchanging punches would be to dangerous after being hit a few times, then he needs to move. Him being able to move well is also important vs you know who imo.
Why stand in front of him taking a risk when you have the ability to stay away and win? Luckily for floyd even when he is fighting like that he is still very good.

From what I saw he wasnt using the wrong gameplan, he just stood too close in Mosley's range, was blocking the low jab, and was caught with an over hand right. Floyd adjusted by using movement and he leaned back more, and didnt fall for the jab, well Mosley stopped throwing it also.

Floyd wanted the fight to be exciting, he does that by standing in front of the opponent. <- this could be hes downfall.

He will do so again vs Ortiz. The problem being a defensive fighter is, you let them come to you lol, way harder than you going in throwing combination of punches.
