    hi guys,

i've been a fan of the sport for the last 10 years and consider to be myself a tough cookie to crack.

I'm 5'8 145pounds and have just started boxing about 4 months ago, i want to give it a proper shot...what i'm wondering is, is 24 too old to start from bottom and actually attempt to make a proper carreer out of it?

    appreciate your advice.

    Carlos

It will not be any easier to make it, but more than a few fighters did not peak until they were the other side of 30.

if you fit and athletic and are aguile enough and coordinated at other sport then sure give it a shot.

BUT if your not serious about the training required to reach a good level, then you will soon find out that fighting unlike other sport where there are 'team mates' to control the game and rely on, well with fighting you will know all about it pretty quick!

    Good Luck.

To be honest, dude, I think it probably is a little too late. But best of luck, though.

Look I don't know how you can come to this country and not expect to take the test also if you turn pro will you give Jessie Vargas his shot?

Tarver had his first pro fight at age 29 so there's hope (aslong as you don't duck and dodge Jessie Vargas)

i just keep thinking of guys like glen johnson etc who had never stepped into a boxing gym until their 20's and were out of shape...they did it.

i've always been in shape,i suppose in the long run, they must have had the talent to start off with and the determination to keep learning so...

You are too old to be world class. Its going to take you a year to learn how to punch properly with everything and actually be able to use it on instinct. Its going to take a few more years of sparring to get the muscle memory required for fighting. ... then its going to take a few more years to.... never mind **** it. Just watch the fights
