i get your post but if theres anything to criticize, 130 is not of them, pacquaio fought morales, barrera and marquez at that weight. also forget the 8 titles at 8 different divisions if you think anyone can do it, how about getting 4 lineal titles at 4 different weight divsions?
i dont take anything away from Pacman, he is my fav boxer(of non cuban origen). My problem is with the mafia surrounding the boxing organization, promoters, etc.
Gamboa should be his own man, don't chase someone else's shadow. If crossover appeal is what he wants, he can start by mastering English.
It helps that he can communicate with the media without the necessity of a translator? It's just more generally appealing when there is no middle man. Imagine Gamboa going on someone elses show and having to lug around someone with him just so they can chat.
Can gamboa absorb punching powers in the likes of cotto, margarito, and clottey? If yes, then he can be a champ at 147 and dominate
I honestly can't see Gamboa getting anywhere close to the accomplishments of Pac. Do you really think he could go all the way up to 147 beating most of the best along the way. Not a chance!
I agree with the rest of your post but damn son you got some high standards for a boxer if marquez is a weak champ at 130:-( I hope you trully don't mean that and you meant 135
Gamboa should prove it first. He wants to fight Pac. But he should go clean up some names at 140 and below like Juanma, Khan, Maidana, JMM. I don't see one big name on his resume yet and he's nearing 30.
