    Just for fun.

Let's pretend that someone actually organized a Streetfighter-style international tournament in the early 90's. Minus the crazy characters (no Brazilian electric ape-monsters...), who wins a UFC-style elimination tournament between:

    Alexander Karelin (Russia - wrestling)
    Akebono (United States - Sumo)
Branco Cikatic (Croatia - Muay Thai)
Dennis Alexio (American Full Contact Karate - United States)
Kenji Midori (Japan - Kyokushin karate)
Mike Tyson, of course (United States - Boxing)
Minoki Ichihara (Kyokushin and Judo - Japan)
Whoever won this 1986 Lei Tai competition (Kung Fu - Taiwan):

For simplicity's sake, we'll match them up as you see them above (Karelin vs. Akebono, Cikatic vs. Alexio, etc.), since they're in alphabetical order.

Well, Akebono v Karelin would certainly be a spectacle to behold, but you'd have to pick genuine grappling ability over size so Alex wins this

Branko's hands will be the difference against Alexio I feel, Alexio always held his hands at waist height, Branko steps in with a jab right hook to end it for me, with Jean Claude Van Damme screaming at ringside

Tyson was always vulnerable to a quick jab, but the traditional karate straights aint gonna cut it here. At least it would be quick for Midori

After a bit of circling and staying out of range, one of Whoevers kicks finally connect, but it gives Ichi perfect opportunity to bring his Judo skills to the table finish the fight on the ground

So Karelin v Branco, not a stretch to see this being a rurun of the Kerr fight here, after a prolonged period on the ground, Karelin beats Branco with knees from the North/South position.

Taking no ****, Mike opens up with a body/head hook combo right off the bat then grabs Ichihara by the Gi dragging his head down and hits him with an uppercut or two, leaving Ichihara with a few less brain cells and even less teeth

So the final for me would be Karelin v Tyson, and here's where it gets interesting.....

  3. If street fight was real stoo would jerk off to Johnny Cage even harder then he does now.

Karelin - Tyson struggled when bigger guys tied him up in boxing (look at the Ferguson fight for an early example) and it'd be ten times worse when put up against a world class wrestler.

Plus 9 times out of ten I'd always go with the grappler against the striker, something proven by any objective analysis of the cross-sport fights that have taken place over the past 100 years.
