spoke to a bloke tonight who came into my work, he is a maintence man at newcastle entertainment centre we got talking about mundine fight and he told me word going round at work is that the fight is off...as a novacastrian and not a mundine fan i hope this is not true coz newcastle needs big bouts

 

But he's deperate to beat Alvarez so as he can get the #1 ranking and fight Trout who he could have fought instead of Alvarez anyway :nut.

Perhaps they are instead trying to seduce Geale into a bout with 2 or 3 times the money that was considered too much for Trout.

Geale, like Trout will want a rematch clause - the sticking point in the Trout negotiations.

....and wouldn't that leave the 'Pioneer' nickname in tatters?

Seriously though, I reckon a more relevant poll would be does anyone give a **** whether Mandy fights a for a world title in 2011, or ever?

 

I personally don't give a ****, because it went from him wanting to fight for a full title to fighting Alvarez, who is the 3rd ranked WBA JMW, so it isn't even a world title.

The fact that he was intending to spin it as a full title and the likes of ash was on here telling us that the second-tier champ (Trout), and not Cotto, is the REAL WBC JMW champ, is one of the many things that are wrong with boxing today.
