Yeah, but this is who Ortiz has already shown himself to be. They replay him getting the **** knocked out of him against Maidana, asked him what he was thinking and he goes "I was thinking 'whooooooa' uhuhuhuuhuhuhuhuhuhuh" What's he doing new, here? He's quits against Maidana, acts like he's facing George Foreman against Campbell, acts like the ****ing terminator after that, then has seemingly an easy knockout win over Peterson close ahead and pulls back like he just realized he's messing with a rabid dog, then acts like the undeniable warrior again with Berto, then blatantly fouls Mayweather and acts all "huhuhuhuh" again after losing. Did people just see his last fight and assume that's who he is? The guy's loony as ****. It's actually perfectly normal for bizarre **** to happen around loony people. They invite it. You should expect like a riot at a Riddick Bowe fight.

Yup, after seeing it through another time I must conclude that the "weirdness" of tonight is exclusively caused by Ortiz during and after the fight.

- "I'm gonna headbutt you like mad"
- "Sorry bro !" - kiss - "Sorry !" - touch gloves - "Sorry again huh !" - hugs - "Didn't mean that" - Tries to hug again
- Then he looks at the ref like he wants to say sorry to him too
- Gets punched in the face, no reaction
- Gets knocked out
- "Nobody is perfect, things happen" atsch

Bizarre is as far as I'd go

as what does Ortiz gain by losing in that fashion? He wasn't paying attention and gets clocked 2x before getting dropped

if anything besides saving face all the smiling from Victor was because he probably felt embarrassed about how he lost. I mean what a fool, he had his hands down right in front of an opponent

I don't honestly believe it was enough for Ortiz to be knocked out. It was harder then when Floyd did the same to Mosley after Mosley wanted to touch gloves... of course Mosley was fine. At any rate, the right hand Berto landed on Ortiz seemed far more deadly, especially considering Berto's punching power. Ortiz crawls around on the floor weirdly, Tyson-esque against Douglas. Immediately when he gets counted out he's smiling. He doesn't look like a fighter who got knocked out. He's smiling, almost in a "Aww shucks" matter. Almost in a "Was my KOlbelievable." Floyd hasn't KOed an opponent since Ricky Hatton went into the turnbuckle. And even then the fighter wasn't out. The fighter got up, wobbled back after shots and the fight was stopped. Marquez said he was surprised by how light of a puncher Floyd Mayweather was. And this is an Ortiz that outweighed Floyd by 15 pounds. I can't remember the last time Floyd lights out an opponent. Regardless whether or not he was looking away. Why was he looking away, anyway?

Ortiz after the entire thing smiles as if nothing bad really happened. As if he has no real reason to not be pissed. I guess this guy really doesn't care. His interview is completely odd. His voice is at a high inflection, indicating that he's probably being dishonest. He says Floyd pushed him and so he headbutted him and that it looks intentional but it really wasn't intentional. Basically, the guy is just talking out of his ass. Floyd didn't push him. No one is calling anyone out on anything. He says he was looking at the ref when Floyd hit him. He wasn't, he was looking to his right and once Floyd hit him his eyes veered toward Cortez.

Floyd's interview with Merchant is almost as weird. Floyd basically blows up at Merchant for never giving him a fair shake. Merchant says if he was 50 years younger he would've kicked his ass. Wow, if this couldn't seem even seem more set up like the WWF.

And after all this. Ortiz is smiling like a kid that knows something we don't. Like a kid that just got a red bicycle from his father that DIDN'T leave. Ortiz and Floyd congratulate and Ortiz seems totally unbothered or unaffected. He's high fiving Floyd's team, smiling, talking about how the fans wanted to see something "fun" and he thinks they got that. What the ****? We wanted to see something fun. What is this chucky cheese? We wanted to see a good boxing fight. Danny Garcia is in the background grinning the entire time as if he just sold his soul to the devil for 100 million dollars. It's all so odd and none of it adds up.

Either we say one of the most bizarre things ever in boxing. A headbutt, from a truly mentally weak Ortiz after literally just catching Floyd with a decent right hook. Okay, his flurries were starting to miss and maybe that frustrated him. So Ortiz, this mental midget gets so frustrated he headbutts Floyd in a video game blatant way. Kissed Floyd on the cheek "Sorry bro." Touches gloves, and then proceeds to blindly try and hug him while Floyd sets up a 1-2 combination with Cortez conveniently looking away... OR this was setup by Floyd, Ortiz, and perhaps Cortez. The headbutt was a signal to set up the apology. The looking away from both Ortez and Cortez for oddly extended periods of time all occured for to Floyd to set up his left right combination were all perfectly placed for Ortiz to get knocked out. Ortiz stumbles like he's trying to get up but can't. Then once it's over its all huggy, kissy, grinning, and smiling. Maybe Ortiz got paid a little extra from Floyd so Floyd can preserve his 0 and make tons of cash only to retire again. Win win for everyone. Ortiz doesn't look too bad because he got cheap shotted, and Floyd gets paid, gets a win, and doesn't care about the extra damage to his already unfixable image.

Maybe this all sounds crazy. Maybe I've gone off the deep end. I've never ever thought a fight was set up or fixed in a regard like this. Nothing outside of crooked judging. But something didn't look right. This looked odd. It looked choreographed.

Here's one thing I can guarantee. Floyd will never ever ever face Pacquaio. He never will. And he is probably going to retire once again after we've all been had, and probably will never return again this time. Either way, all of this is a complete black eye to the sport of boxing. Once again...

People that DON'T think this fight was fixed are morons.

The fight was fixed because there was no real loser after tonight.

Floyd gets the win and gets payed. He doesn't care about his image and can still get big money fights.
Ortiz can say he hasn't really lost to Floyd because of the cheap shot and can be sold to fans in future fights.

How do you sell that to fans in the future? Whether cheap shots or not, two power punches from Mayweather laid him out and rendered him unable to beat a count.

That is the exact opposite of "nobody coming away from this a loser".

Nah, no such fixing happened as the TS opined. It was just Ortiz acting stupid and Mayweather displaying of unsportmanlike behavior.

Let's open this thread again when proof of this game being fixed surfaces. Otherwise, instigating something without any proof to support it just creates confusion.

There is no denying this incident wouldn't happen if...
1. Ortiz didn't pull that **** act and protected himself as a professional boxer should.
2. Cortez taking control of the situation.
3. Floyd taking advantage

What are the chances of all of these things happening? I can't believe it when I saw it happened. wtf!

Floyd ranting on Merchant excused him from having to explain what happened. another wtf! And Ortiz seems to not mind at all and all smile. It all seems bizarre.

Ortiz should not of head butted him and should of been paying attention and Floyd should not of hit him while he was not looking like a coward. I can understand if he was super pissed and did not accept Ortiz's hugs etc... and just wanted to clock him but he was like yeah ok I will accect your opoligy but I will just ko you when you are not looking.

Glad I did not end up buying the ppv.

I just told you the answer. He lost because of 2 cheap shots and not a "real" punch. That's what they'll sell to the fans. You and I might not buy into the bs but the simple minded will.

At the end of the day Floyd got paid, got a win and Ortiz can still be marketed to the american-mexican fans he has.

+ as a bonus they can make a credible rematch.
