Top fight, that. Belonged on the PPV, as did Ouali vs. Jones - another surprisingly good showing by an underdog (except unlike Montiel, Jones was able to tip the upset). I'd have been OK bumping Canelo vs. Gomez off for either of them to be included. (although obviously that would have reduced the # of PPV buys considerably, given Canelo's large fan base).
Nope he would if been better off fighting on some **** bill in scotland with you you fool. Dont fight in vegas.....billy nelson says so. Crolla had a very live journeyman and won by at least 4 rnds. Billy you are an absolute fool at times
How so? How many tough-ass knock-down-drag-out Mexican warriors was he getting taken the distance with slumming around the UK domestic scene? :blood This was an excellent learning experience if Anthony wants to springboard to world level at some point and actually get someone like Morales in the ring (and now would be the time to go for it and try to snatch a title, with how poor Morales looked in half the rounds against Cano). Was it not worthwhile because he looked poorer than he's capable of looking and got hit a lot? It's all a learning process, man. Plus, you can rest assured that Marsen is going to ream his ass out over disobeying all his instructions. Sink or swim, that relationship. Either Marsden will tighten the reins or they'll part ways. Either way, a glaring loose end in Crolla's game will be tied up. He got exposure to an American audience (not the entire PPV audience, but many of us tuned in to the Golden Boy undercard stream and the scrap with Montiel probably wind up on Youtube as word-of-mouth buzz generates a demand for it). He logged ten rounds with someone who despite the spotty record is tougher/heavier-handed/just plain better than probably half the names already on Crolla's resume. I don't get how this was a bad thing.
Right. It was only a fraction of the capacity it would fill up to for the PPV bouts but still probably as large a crowd as Crolla has performed for, and definitely the biggest event.
I understand the appeal of fighting there but going there without your coach, fighting in front of only a few hundred people and not really boxing that well because of it thats my point,he hardly sold himself did he?
Gallagher is his usual trainer. I know Crolla only fought infront of a few people but it depends who those few people were. When Groves had a fight on a Vegas undercard there was sod all people there but of the few people there you could see Schafer watchin and a few other GBP big wigs.
Ah...who the hell is Marsden then? Co-trainer? He seemed to be telling Anthony the right things, begging him to just box...but Anthony seemed to have no respect for him as an authority figure and was flaunting his constant election to brawl with the brawler.
Your looking at the negatives Billy, he got the win against a decent fighter in Vegas on a Floyd bill and didnt look to bad doing it. Hoe many British boxers can say they have done that or have that experiance in the bank.
