Floyd is one of the best fighters iv ever seen

I recognise Floyd is class. But not as class as lots of other far better fighters who faced far better opposition and looked just as good.

I don't think anyone's saying that. That's as extreme as saying he's one of the greatest fighters of all time.

:huh I didnt say that. I'm simply saying that above 135lbs he hasnt really proven his greatness, He is a very very good pure boxer, one of the best ever at 130 IMO. But he was proven **** all at 140-147. Cotto, Williams, Margo, Kosta, a semi-prime Mosley. These are all entregrel names he is missing

To be honest, the reason I pulled you up on it is that I'm shocked someone like yourself would think this.

I enjoy the fighters and enjoy the sport. I just don't merge enjoyment and aesthetic quality with 'greatness'.

 

So what does he have to do to prove that he is a great fighter? Beat Ray Leonard? Beat Ray Robinson? Stop Kid Gavilan?

We all know Mayweather is very good. But the fact is he isn't fighting the best out there. The Hatton fight was 4 years ago. Since then an outweighed Marquez, a Mosley who couldn't beat Sergio Mora and Victor bloody Ortiz. And he's supposed to be the greatest of all time? If he's really that great, prove it ffs!

When you get paid 20 times your opponent who gets unfairly knocked out yet still leaves the ring smiling something's wrong.

No, of course not. All I'm saying is, doesn't mean he should be classed alongside fighters that have performed similar feats. Is he great? Yes. Is he like, one of the best. No, and I'm sick of people saying he is. He isn't the greatest of the last ten years and it hasn't been the strongest of eras at all.
