For **** sake, Cortez called for them to continue ! If anything Ortiz was the one who was bang out of order. He was getting dicked on by Floyd, couldn't land anything significant which then seen him resort to headbutting in frustration. Cortez said 'Lets Go' before then realising he'd got it the wrong way round and started going towards the time keeper... Ortiz was still trying to apologise for the 10000000000x wanting to kiss and make up in a prize fight and as Ortiz moved away Floyd threw the left hook right hand, which seen Victor end up facing the roof of the MGM. Cortez said these exact words before the fight, "Protect yourself at all times". Ortiz didn't.
merchant is a cynical old ******* though, it is ****ing true what mayweather said in that old interview "you always give me a hard time" yes sometimes he has deserved it, but even in general im ****ing sick of merchants bull****, it takesl iterally 5 seconds to notice hes never been in a ring before in his life... roy jones, george foreman, and mayweather have ALL pulled Larry on his bull**** and said something along the lives of "you're never boxed larry, it doesnt work like that" he really does have the attitude of a guy who doesnt know how a fight really works, always negative, always making wild assumptions and always talking bull****
I don't think Floyd would really care if the WBC stripped him, they probably will anyway when he doesn't face the mandatory and doesn't fight for another year - if he hasn't vacated first. He doesn't need the belts, we all know who the best fighters are at each weight, regardless of who is actually holding them...
Merchants questions were fine imo. Floyd just expects every one to worship and kiss his feet instead of conducting an interview about a fight with a somewhat bizarre ending. I dislike Floyd as much as anyone but Ortiz got what he deserved. He played very dirty with that headbutt and got a reply from Floyd.
