I don't blame Mayweather for what he did. Ortiz should have defended the second shot and Joe Cortez needs to not ref another world championship fight.

    100% he says lets go!

    Then signals fighters together.

What floyd did to ortiz was kind of like what george did to lenny on
"of mice and men" when he had lenny turn his back and then george
told lenny about when they have a farm and lenny gets to tend to the
rabbits, and then he blows lenny's brains out from behind. I think floyd
kind of put ortiz out of his misery.:yep

Ortiz instead should have put one hand up to touch gloves instead of trying to hug him again. He is to young minded.

Cortez ****ed up by looking away though for like 10 seconds. I he should have looked to the corner first before calling time in.

Ortiz was probably trying to stall time because he was getting tired throwing all those punches and missing.

Mayweather could have attacked Ortiz earlier if he wanted as soon as Cortez called time in instead of touching his gloves, he could have hit him as soon as Ortiz reached out his gloves to touch.

Cortez should have made a much clearer time in than saying "let's go" from the point that they were in neutral corners, and then turning away and ignoring the fight.

It's ambiguous, but even if it was technically legal, nobody paid to watch a fight end like that, and a true sportsman wants to prove that he's the best through the spirit of competition, not during a moment of confusion and miscommunication.

There are 3 instructions a ref gives during a fight, Stop, Break and Box .......
Lets go is NOT one of them and if you watch the slow motion replay you can see Cortez tellin the time keeper to start the clock after Mayweather already landed the left hook

you can lie about this all you want, but lets go is not a term used for a referee to officiate a fight
