Don't we hear refs say this at the start of EVERY ****ing boxing match?? Am I missing something here? Isn't this one of the most BASIC principles of the sport???:huh

I've been following boxing for 35 years, and have forgotten more about this sport than many of the kiddies on this site have ever known.

And in any event, I fail to understand the need for these personal swipes.

But back to the subject at hand - this is a legitimate KO under the rules of the sport, NO question about it.

That's not even an issue and you know it. Most people know it was legal. But Piffer already put it as clear as day.

of course it's an issue. You have people calling this a "cheap shot" and such. It was entirely within the rules of the sport, and the only person responsible is Ortiz. He violated one of the most basic rules of the sport.

Ortiz had it coming. You don't shake hands in the ring . leave that **** for after the fight.

Boxing has unwritten rules of fair conduct, so I was thought...

Even if May doesn't go by these rules, he should think about his fans who bought the fight.
On the other hand, if he did this for his fans, in that case they are all a bunch of low class fanboys.

The moral of this story, what is legal is not always cool, but being cool earns respect. :thumbsup :good

You can shake hands in the ring. But if you keep doing it for 2 mins and after the ref says fight on, might lead to something bad, something yesterday's fight clearly proved.

If Ortiz didn't flying headbutt Floyd, he wouldn't of felt the need to apologise like 3 times anyway.
