It's the fault of the guy who started it. Whatever the other guy does to get revenge is justified by the actions of the first.

Nah...I feel the right to defend myself within reason. No need to commit murder over a scrap...regardless of me starting **** or not.

I'm all for an "eye for an eye"...not a "LIFE for an eye". Pussies sucker punch....but again... Floyd did get butted... so I can't put full blame on him. I'm just saying Floyd could have been more professional and acted in a way that would have allowed him to ENJOY the victory, rather than it be tainted by a KO that happened when Victor wasn't ready.

If someone wrongs you then of course you have the right to defend yourself....but Floyd had the chance to punish Victor the right way...not the way he blatantly looked for the cheap shot.

That's what most have a problem with....the fact that Floyd premeditated that sucker punch and ended up getting a stoppage. No champion really wants to get a "W" that way.

 

It's the fault of the guy who starts it in a street fight homie. You need to seperate the average joe fighting in a little street fight to PROFESSIONAL boxers who are in a championship fight.

You see the way Holyfield reacted when Tyson bit him right.....he could have bit tyson back or kicked him in the balls...instead he went right back to work and continued to beat the brakes off Mike.....until Mike bit him again!

 

He didn't....but Floyd is big enough and sharp enough to KO anyone who isn't looking.

 

So what's the point? Looked like the butter got what was coming to him.

 

No True Champion wants to win that way, But here lets just assume this cus I have watched this dozens of times today.
Lets just say Okay Cortez and he did I aint denying he did say lets go, not one of the commands a referee instructs the fighters during a fight but lets just say thats what he ment and it was clear.

The time Cortez called time for the headbutt, there was 8 seconds left on the clock, when Cortez said LETS GO, Ortiz walked to Floyd and apologized to him twice huggin him by then the round is officially over.....

Meaning the time keeper never started the damn clock so what the **** does that tell you?
Joe never called time in Because if he did you would have heard the bell while Joe was counting

 

berto and maidana knocked ortiz down with shots ortiz was prepared for. i'm sure given the same situation maidana would have put ortiz to sleep with those 2 very clean shots and berto just about the same result as floyd's

 

A couple things went wrong.

1) The ref didn't have his eyes on the fighters and was not in control of the fight.

2) Floyd landed some cheap shots intentionally

3) Victor Ortiz wasn't protecting himself and was in metro sexual kiss men mode rather than fight mode.

That's that.. At the end of the day the rules are the rules, some things went wrong which could have been prevented by the ref. When Ortiz got caught with the hook he seemed to look to the ref, maybe wondering where the, "Fight" command was, maybe he was looking for a foul just before he was caught with the cross.

I blame the ref for not having control, but that isn't to say Floyd's shots weren't cheap shots, I'm not saying Ortiz was ready and has a real excuse, because he should have been protecting himself. I'm not even saying Ortiz didn't deserve to get hit by those shots. A lot of things went wrong, and we aren't looking at the ref who wasn't in control of the fight. End of the night, I was laughing my ass off because of how things spiraled out of control, and how the ref caught no flack for it.

Floyd has little to no class/ professionalism as far as his persona towards others. I can understand where he was coming from in his response to Merchant, but the expletives weren't needed to express his point, and actually took away from a very valid point he has.

 

Floyd isn't a big puncher but the guy knows when, where and how to throw punches which makes him one of the most accurate punchers in the game. But any shot you don't see can and will hurt...depending on where it lands you might be disconnected from your senses.

 

You know what....I didn't even notice the time... but I was very dissapointed in how the fight ended. It was a very exciting fight until Ortiz butted Floyd and Floyd sucker punched Ortiz.

 

Really? I saw the fight as rather one sided. Ortiz's attempts to get anything off were getting more and more desperate and inefficient. Looked to me like Floyd was just picking him apart.
