Oh wow well thats a surprise I can't see anything but a Sturm win here im afraid though don't rate Murray as highly as some of the other on this forum. Then again not many gave Macklin much of a chance.....

    3 Brits getting a shot a middleweight in 6 months....not bad

can he? Its a huge step up in class. he hasn't even faced anyone thats genuine British title level.

This is a bigger step up to Martinez vs Barker.

It's a big ask of Murray, To be frank I don't think he stands a chance, I can't see him outboxing Sturm to win it clear and if it's close he won't get the nod anyway, Add the fact that he has never fought anyone near Sturm's level and it equals a very tough night for Murray.

he looks talanted but to me he looks like more a great athlete than great boxer. that will get you to a certain point when your fighting upper level journeyman but Sturm is a class above.

    :nono

martinez is the dogs, sturm never was and has undoubtedly slipped since then

If murray can get close to 75+ punches a round with 50% of those to the body, hes got a chance

good luck to him, sturm is a problem in boxing. his offer of a 'contract' to macklin in a re-match (lol) :dead

    Tough, tough fight.

I dont think Murray can win this, I dont think he has the power or workrate that Macklin has.

What happened with Macklin rematch? did Macklin not sign or did Sturm not opt for it?.

Murray i've always felt he's a bit to muscle bond and bit to straight ahead but i think if Sturm starts as slow as he did with Macklin and Murray gets a foothold in the fight it could be another hard nights work for Felix.

    Hope the boy does it.

Was just gonna post this. What happened with the Macklin rematch?

It's a huge step up for Murray, he hasn't fought anyone really. Can't see him causing Sturm too Manu problems tbh

Macklin was apparently offered crap money and the deal came with options.

Knowing what he's like for switching all the time he was bound to walk away from it.

I don't think he's the best fighter in the world but I think he could end up retiring with a load of regrets, mainly caused by the mismanagement of his career.

Sturm i believe presented macklin with some proposterous contract in which he would get like 20% and sturm would have like 4 options on him and 30% of his future earnings under those options (dont quote me on exact detail)

Basically, sturm didnt want it and macklin can work with Lou Di Bella

Macklin declined it I think but word on the street was that the terms being offered were appalling. Di Bella then came along for Macklin so he went with him.

he was basically offerd only a few grand more than last time. all the options were there before.

in all honesty macklin is probs better off losing a fight everyone thinks he should have won.
