There has been much made of Liverpool's boxing resurgence in the past year or so. In light of Stephen Smith's recent loss to Lee Selby I think its time to question the potential of this resurgence. There are clearly a number of decent talents in the area but so far they seem to have hit a brick wall at domestic level with Paul and Stephen Smith and Paul Edwards all losing their British titles. Tony Bellew has looked in some peoples eyes unimpressive against Ovill McKenzie. Where does this leave the revival?

With this in mind who do you think will go the furthest? What will that be? World Euro or Brit level?

Liverpool also has currently 3 top amateurs on the GB squad Callum Smith Tom Stalker and Anthony Fowler. Assuming they turn pro next year how well do they fare?

EDIT: ACCIDENTALLY LEFT DAVID PRICE OUT :patsch

I still think Stephen Smith will win a world title.

I see David Price going the furthest. I think he is to accurate for Fury when they meet, though he is in for a test against McDermott

My highest hope was Stephen Smith I still havent seen the full fight only the knockout so will wait until I have to make a full assessment. It has put a question mark in my mind though.

Paul and Stephen Smith and Paul Edwards losing British titles John Donnelly and John Watson falling short at British title level. Bellew has a world title fight but at British level he hasn't looked spectacular.

Selkirk's the best prospect out of them IMO but none of them look that great if I'm honest.

Thats the sort of feeling im getting at the moment. All seem like they could get in decent fights domestically win some lose some type thing :think

Maybe I am just being pessimistic.

I think depending on the state of David Price's chin he could do something ill wait until Selkirk and a few other have been in some decent tests before making judgments on them. its one of those where if they push on they could do really well but if they stay at a certain level or dont show development, they will stay at domestic level.

    Selkirk if hands hold up.

Read an interview a while ago with the head coach from Rotunda and he said Selkirk was the most talented fighter he'd trained
