what kind of circus act is this. I hope shamrock at least stands up and doesnt take toney down like a chump. It'll at least make it somewhat entertaining.

Portly pugilistic powerhouse James Toney is headed to mother Russia.

That's where he'll throw hands against cruiserweight number one contender Denis Ledbedev at the Khodynka Ice Palace on November 4 in Moscow, according to ***********.com.

The bloated boxing "champion" is returning to the "sweet science" after fellow fossilized fomenter Ken Shamrock delayed their special mixed rules bout, originally planned for November of this year, until an unspecified date in 2012.

"November 5, I'm going to invade Russia and show this punk what happens when he messes with the USA. I'm calling it ‘Lights Out in Russia' because he's just the first one I'm going to whip. After I beat up this Ledbedev, I'm going back to Heavyweight after the one too afraid to fight the Klitchko sisters. Povetkin, I'm kicking his ass too! If they think the Roy Jones fight was big over there, wait till I get there and tell them all what I think about European fighters bringing great American fighters over there once they're showing signs of age and acting like beating them means anything. The Roy Jones that this Ledbedev beat was finished. I'm ready and I'm as good as I've ever been. Watch what I do to him. And now I hear Povetkin wants to beat up Evander Holyfield, he's been done since I knocked his ass out in 2003. If Povetkin isn't scared he can jump in the ring after I put his teammate away on November 5th. I'm going to beat his ass right at his weight class, so he can't make any excuses."

Toney's first and only mixed martial arts fight was a Boston massacre, as "Lights Out" was made an example of by Randy Couture in front of a "Beantown" crowd in August 2010.

While "money issues" seem to be the culprit behind the cancellation of "Shamrock vs. Toney," this is the exact scenario UFC middleweight Chael Sonnen predicted when speaking to Cage Potato in August:

"I can guarantee you that as sure as night follows day, that not only is that fight never gonna happen, it never was. Ken Shamrock is going around to all these different promoters doing his typical scumbag move getting money up front saying, ‘You know, I'm a Hall of Famer and I don't even know if you guys are going to exist, so give me a ten grand signing bonus.' He takes their money, goes and blades himself in the back, or whatever make believe thing that guy does, won't show up - guaranteed he won't show up - keeps their ten grand and goes on to the next unassuming promoter. He's not gonna fight James Toney anymore than you are. He never was. That fight won't happen, mark my words."

Anyone crying themselves to sleep over the cancellation of this fight? Or is it a blessing in disguise? Should either of these two combatants be allowed to fight in light of their respective physical and mental conditions?
