    Coming from the guy who's spent the last 20 years, trying to upset this type of fighter, to get a bit of media attention.

    Seriously, Merchant's finished.

    You can't, as a pundit, openly start feuds with the boxers you're supposed to be covering!?

    Everyone knew Merchant was hugely biased anyway. He always goes after Mayweather, when he wins (for like the last decade) but is totally soft on guys like Pacquiao.

    What he shouldn't be doing, is going to the media, and confirming it............

    Larry's just senile.

    There's little future in sports, for a pundit, who openly starts feuds with the guys who pay his wages

    Larry Merchant is more often than not the only reason to watch a boxing match. He is witty, quick, intelligent and always entertains.

    I also enjoy when Merchant is commentating...he's probably my favorite.

    Little future? The guy's 80 years old and has been doing this for over 50 years. We'd all be so lucky to have that little a future...

    I like how he said he "probably" could not have not have kicked FMs ass..... like he thinks he'd have a chance :rofl

    Anyway, no surprise in what he said. Mayweather has become a diva/prima donna type, probably the biggest we've seen in boxing. Even his father said as such not so long ago.

    I'm sure what he meant was Larry should have been sensitive to Mayweather's fragile emotional state and insecurities and not asked him the tough questions us fans wanted him to ask.

    Maybe Larry could've asked what he and 50 were doing to celebrate, what he was going to do with his money, important stuff like that.

    He's been doing this for 40 years, so it's obviously been a good career for him.

    Who is more successful as a commentator? Merchant has been around longer than anyone and still has the best job in the business.

    Honestly, I don't agree with everything Larry says, but the fact remains he's an 80 year old man. Floyd could have gave him a heart attack. That's not cool.
