Good on Larry. He has had some downs but generally he is my hero.

 

Unfortunately Mayweather is all about money, ego and preserving his unbeaten record. I think that he is a sublime fighter, who could have the beating of Pacquiao, but don't see it happening - I think that it would have happened by now if it were going to. Unfortunately I agree with a previous poster who said that in years to come there will always be a question mark next to Mayweather's name, as if he does not beat Paquiao there will always be some who say he ducked, and that he ducked because he thought he would have lost. It is a great shame, as great sportsmen want to settle these rivalries and leave with a record without questions over it... but unfortunately being remembered as a great is not that high up Mayweather's agenda.

 

No, there’s a way Mayweather wants to be handled. Larry did get the answer to the question – Mayweather knew it was a ***** move which is why he got upset. He completely over-reacted to the situation. And he knew that the Pacquiao question wouldn’t be far away and tried to intimidate an 80-year old man.

I have no interest in journalists kissing a fighter’s backside to possible squeeze an answer from them. I also think it’s pointless asking a fighter for their thoughts in the ring anyway – they’ve got no perspective and are still full of adrenaline. But, under the circumstances, it made for great viewing.

 

Why do the Americans do the interviewing in the ring and we tend to do them on the edge of the ring apron?

I dont really care about what Floyd does & says outside the ring, he could spend all his spare time feeding blind orphans & caring for injured kittens, I'm not really interested.

He does come across as an arsehole & hasnt fought everyone I would have liked but who has?

All I care about is what he does once he steps between the ropes & he is still the best active fighter

As a proud ***** I could watch Floyd slip, duck, block & counter all day long, he's the best defensive fighter since Sweet Pea imo

 

ATGs have overcome more than 20lbs difference.

This fight cemented Manny beating Floyd for me.

 

Not his greatest performance imo but nothing has changed in my mind regarding the result with Pacquiao if/when they fight

Pac is more interested in politics these days & will doubtless have an excuse lined up after he gets taken to school

 

Said this over the main forum-

We all know how good Floyd is, but to be great you need to push yourself.

Imagine Ali saying he dosent need to fight Foreman, as that time he had beaten every fighter he faced...avenged his losses to Frazier and Norton. It was a fight he could well have lost but he prevailed.

He has the name, the backing and the abilty to do all this...he is still fresh, has had no in ring war....and looks as good as he did in his 20s.

If he followed that schedule he could be 48-0 and took on the most amazing set of fighters around his weight class and be considered a god, a top 10 off all time.

Of course the above is on the calculation that all his opponents continue to win, and given the boxing matchmakers carefully steer their fighters to avoid losses then its a real possible scenario.

I think Floyd could fight on until his late 30's early 40's if he chose to but he wont.

 

I think it says it all, when my missus - who is not a boxing fan but will take note here and there, hits the nail on the head.

I agree with Rob, he beats Pacquiao, unless Pacquiao changes his style.

lets not forget that Junior had a go at Kellerman also, Merchant though never done anything wrong, he is 80 years old for **** sake, of course he isn't going to be as sharp as he was a few years ago, christ my granda is 84 and even he takes his time to get his point across.

 

This is the problem he's too used to having people suck up to him all the time.

Makes me laugh that loads of boxers end up skint yet through their careers they have countless flunkies on hand calling them ''champ''.

Even watching Fight Camp 360 in the early episodes Dirrell had loads just following him everywhere..... absolutely no need. Froch had his mum, the mrs and his brothers, plus McCracken and Meaty Mick.
