Larry's a nice guy. He loves the sport and doesn't suck arse. I think his interviews are long winded due to his age. It's best someone else took the interviews maybe like Lampley if Kellerman's not there.
Larry Merchant on TMZ Personally I don't think he did much wrong. Floyd was just being a bit of a ***** as usual. There was a very similar thing after the Baldomir fight: [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FYA49V_P4qs[/ame]
1.25 in.....floyd you f.ucking liar "i can beat anybody under any circumstances" that why you are ducking a fight with the pacman by asking for bullsh.it blood testing fight the pacman or retire
After his last fight, I have already said I think the man is probably the best of the best. Only way to remove the probably is to fight Pac. Its like Federer & Nadal never facing off, unthinkable. Until you get to boxing that is:-(
Terrible idea. Kellerman and Lampley aren't going to ask the questions I want to hear answered, and if the fighter gets offended, those two are liable to **** themselves and start giving them verbal blowjobs. That's not compelling television. I want Larry Merchant to conduct the post-fight interviews...and preferably until he keels over.
I understand what you mean but Larry takes ages to get to the point when he's stuttering. I just wish he'd ask questions without having to.........think about what he was going to ask.
I quite like Merchants style of interview, that slow methodical speech pattern, it also has the benefit of letting the fighter anticipate the question and think about his answer.
to be fair mate he is 80 years old, you start slowing down the older you get, I see it with my 84 year old granda.
I do know he's 80 and that elderly people slow but it doesn't mean he should be on the broadcast if he takes ages to get questions off. He's good when he finally gets around to it but at times you lose interest.
