Ortiz was warned by Mayweather before the punch!!! READ CAREFULLY

Disclaimer: I still think Mayweather fugged up a good fight.

Nevertheless, here goes:

A sucker-puncher attempts to hide the fact that he is about to attack. Mayweather's body language before the punch was clear: "I am ready to fight". Mayweather had approached Ortiz in a fighting posture. Ortiz was the one that attempted to initiate another hug.

For all those saying Mayweather hugged him, look again, Mayweather had his hands up in fighting position, Ortiz tried to hug and mayweather did not hug him, rather he, Mayweather, touched Ortiz's hand and Then shook his head while maintaining a fighting posture. As a matter of matter of fact, Mayweather facial expression was a disgusted scowl. Mayweather then raised his hands up further in a clear fighting position looked Ortiz in the face then punched.

To make things worse, the right hand did not immediately follow the left hook. Rather there was a pause between the left hook and right hand. However Ortiz chose to look at the Ref after the left hook. He should have considered the left hook as another warning.

Outside of shaking his head, at no point did Mayweather hug, attempt to hug or reciprocate the apology.

What did Ortiz think, they were going to stand there for the next 24 minutes staring dreamily into each other's eyes.

Taking the above into account, no fair poster will accuse mayweather of sucker punching or cheap-shotting Ortiz.

I invite you to watch in exchange carefully before responding, unfortunately no youtube videos are up so you guys should know how to obtain and watch it.

I still think Mayweather could have went about it another way. It seemed like a really good fight was shaping up.

 

Hey kirk, I don't think most people realize that after the headbutt, Cortiz called a stop to the action and Ortiz threw a hard left after Cortez called stop. The good thing for Mayweather was that he still had his hands up protecting himself EVEN AFTER CORTEZ CALLED A STOP TO THE ACTION.

 

This should make it clear to any unbiased poster.:good

 

Thats what I thought also. However, try watching it in slow motion. That when I realized Ortiz through his left hand after Cortez had stepped in.
