Interesting. I heard that Mayweather v Ortiz did better figures than Any of Froch fights, so that makes sense.

Just like Floyd said, he is always relevant.... Only Haye and Khan are actually bigger names than Mayweather in the UK

Floyd Mayweather is very popular among the general sports fan in the UK. He is seen as the Tiger Woods, Michael Shumacher, Roger Federer of Boxing.

:yep:patsch Is he ****, 99% of people don't even have a clue who he is. You could ask 100 people on the street and not one of them could tell you what weight he fights at. Comparing Mayweather to Woods, Shumacher and Federer is embarrassing.

To the man in the street, weight classes are pretty irrelevant. And with 17 of the ****ers, who can blame the man on the street?

Most 'casual' fans I know rate Pacman over Floyd, and speak of him in much higher regard.

They probably only think that because Pac stretched Fatton quicker then Mayweather. That is how casual fans think.

The ****s in boxing is insane. 40,000 by any stretch for the best boxer on the planet is AWFUL figures. This will help to kill boxing in the UK. Every hardcore fan should purchase this. Surely there is more than 40k fans in UK. There is but they won't want to shell out £15 on ****. I'm one of them!

It was a **** mismatch of a fight, we can thank our lucky stars that casuals didn't get to see this farce of a fight.

If thats true then Mayweather is one hell of a draw. 40,000 buys with no promotion at all against someone like ortiz at 5am is impressive.

I am quite surprised. I thought it would be much worse.

Most casuals I know lived the fight and drama... I've never understood this hate for the casuals (I guess it's the same why many boxers get hate on here too), without them boxing would be dead and matches fought in empty arenas.
