    14lbs heavier ?

this is not HW division if a guy adds that in aprox 24 hours he has been draining a lot of water weight , this is not an advantage

most boxing shows there is brutal KOs that never even make it to tv, why are they not KOs of the year ?

    cause they are overmatched fights

Can you think of a better KO for 2011? Nobody has nominated any other KOs other than Donaire-Montiel. That was Knockdown Of The Year for me as Montiel got up, only for the ref to stop it moments later when he saw he was unfilt to continue, making it a TKO. Ortiz was counted out on the canvas for the first time ever.

I personally don't think it qualifies because it was a blatant sucker punch. But others on the poll saw absolutely nothing wrong. Absolutely nothing. So when I suggested this to be KO Of The Year candidate for those who saw it as a non-controversial KO, surprisingly only 2 fans here thought so. Others remain quiet. Why is that? :huh

its not controversial, its just that one guy is dumb why cant u see that ?

any fool KOed cause he "wasnt ready lol" will NEVER be top year KO, has it ever been before ?

Kos of the year always happen in competoitive fights !!

like I said before, many Kos happen this way in mismatches they dont even make it to tv

a ko of the year is a spectacular knockout

I understand all that. My thread is to see the opinions of those who didn't see any of that. But few have replied despite them reading my thread and I know they have been reading because it's been viewed more than 3,000 times.

BTW, KO Of The Year awards usually go to high profile fights, not fights from boxing gyms. Can you name a better looking mid to high profile KO that happened this year?

There is also Kahn vs Judah but that was eh.

Maybe it is KO of the yr.

Still only 2 votes for KO Of The Year?

What's wrong Floyd fans? You don't like Floyd's 1-2 combo on Ortiz?

    Ortiz got KTFO!

But... but.... Floyd fans said it was legit and saw nothing wrong with the KO.

Ortiz had never been counted out on the canvas, had 14 pounds on Floyd, and got KTFO!

So why so few nominations from them? I know they've read this thread. It's got over 3000 views.

    Why so few nominations? Why?
    :think:huh

Because Pagara-Sumpa, Holt-Arroyo and Donaire-Monteil occurred this year, and it'll take something truly monumental to top those near decapitations.:D

It's a real mystery. Only Leon and PimpC say it could be KO Of The Year. They've backed up their beliefs by nominating. Much props to them.

The others? There's so many who saw nothing wrong with the KO, yet have failed to consider the KO as candidate or even just post on this thread. Why is that? Why?

    Why? :huh :think

Donaire-Montiel? Montiel got up. Ref stopped the fight for a TKO. Ortiz got KTFO!

The others can be candidates. But why can't Mayweather-Ortiz be a candidate? Especially to those who saw absolutely nothing wrong?

    Why?

    Why?

    Why?

The way Ortiz head snapped back after the 2nd punch was priceless. It's got my vote.
