The guy's right. He is also right about the weigh-in. Why is there a "scuffle", i.e. a physical altercation at nearly every other of these things now? Boxing is a mess but who is going to clean it up? Which one of the four or five different corrupt sanctioning bodies?

The point he made on Mayweather 'strangling' Ortiz at the weigh in..

"No one stepped in and did anything."

Ortiz is a fighter, no one needs to step in and do anything. The moment Floyd laid his hands on him, he should have swung at him. He just stood there and took it. That's when I knew he didn't wanna know about this fight. I can think of few other fighters who would allow their opponent to put his hand around their neck without reacting. You're supposed to be fired up and ready for action at that point. Remember how Hatton was during the weigh in with Floyd? Imagine if Floyd had grabbed him by the neck. Would have been a brawl there and then. It's a shame to say, but Ortiz is a bit of a *****. I don't think he has the right mentality for Boxing.

It easy for Dana to tell you what should have been done when the truth is Dana doesn't have anyone near a Floyd Mayweather type in the UFC. He tells you how to deal with a situation that he will NEVER EVER have to deal with. Floyd is a marketing genius. He plays the villian to a T and if Dana understood this, he wouldnt even comment on something that logically should make sense but looking at everything he said....he doesn't even apply these tactics to his fighters. None of his people are making 50 mil a fight, nor generating 6 million in pay per view buys over a 5 fight span. Hell Victor made more than the entire UFC Card did and he was the "secondary" fighter. Don't try to tell boxing how to control someone who generates more money than your entire card.

The fight was staged that's why no one step up at the weigh in nor the referee handle it professionally. Golden boy won't let Floyd jr get hurt not until they can convince him to fight Pac...

Floyd doesn't "play" the "villan", he just is the bad guy.
Not only his public behavior has always been controversial his private behavior has been too, hence the constant lawsuits he's in.
The reason why Floyd is so popular is a) He's extremely talented, and winners have lots of fans. b) The same reason why gangsta rappers are popular with some people; Rich, no respect for authority, and acting "alpha".

Dana White is totally right in this case, and he's right more often as boxfans would like to admit.
His set up for MMA is also much better as boxing is run nowadays. Boxfans may hate his guts, but I'm certain that most of them would love to have his way of matchmaking, ranking and divisioning in boxing.

Floyd should have got a big fine for choking Ortiz at the weigh-in. Cortez should never be allowed to ref again. Most of us have been saying that for years.
