    Indomitable spirit 10/10
Fearlessness and refusal to be defeated or conquered, and perhaps not believing you even can be. Possessing a mentality which puts no boundaries on what you are capable of achieving. I believe this is the sngle greatest attribute a fighter can have

    Toughness 10/10
The mental toughness required to face daunting challenges and continue to fight in losing battles. Also, the almost inhuman physcal toughness required to enforce your aspirations, to come through wars and still be capable of success

    Stylistic Range 10/10
The range of styles the fighter's came up against and were successful against. If your style allowed you the same success even with age, once their physical capabilties were diminished, then this is an example of stylistic range. Also a fighter's ability to hold there own wherever the fight is taken(box/brawl/maul/swarm etc)

    Adaptability 10/10
Old habits die hard, as they say. The ability to switch up your approach for this reason, is a great ability, imo. To alter your style in sync with your physical capabilities is counted here

    Longevity 10/10
A true mark of a great fighter. The better your level of competition and the consistency of it, the greater the feat of longevity is. There are ups and downs in everyone's life, if you can prove successful for so long, then chances are you have overcome many bumps in the road and been able to come back strong. This one separates the men from the boys.

    Level of opposition 10/10
The proof is in the pudding. Your ability needs to be proven, and is essential to be ranked

    Effectiveness/Creativity 10/10
Getting the job done, basically. Rarely a fighter is so supreme in his style that it can overcome other stylistic or physical shortcomings, i give special marks for this. The textbook is not something you'd advise a fighter to throw away. If a fighter can do this and remain effective with his unique style then special marks are in order. It also means that this fighter is hard to prepare for or counter-style, making them a formible challenge H2H.

    Overcoming Size Disadvantages 3/3
I suppose this could link in with a few other criterias, but i'm given this attribute special marks as it is rarely a feat proven at the highest level. Generally, a good big 'un DOES beat a good little 'un.

This is a P4P ATG list. I will gladly answer any questions you may have on the criteria. Consider this though, if you think any of the points are too low on certain criteria, it is judging this on the very highest echelon, which most fighters cannot be judged on this level. 10/10 literally means as close to perfection we can get.

Concerning level of opposition, yes Greb, Armstrong, Langford fought the very best available of thier time. You may consider it unfair not to give them 10/10 as it was not possible to do anymore than they did. Though i am of the opinion they fought in eras of less ability. To be consistent, the more current fighters on the list have lost points on longevity, though it was not possible in the more recent eras to fight as often as they did in previous eras.

I wrote the list out first before marking the fighters on each criteria, and had to change them around a few places. Duran and Langford ended up higher than they were.

These are the 10 fighters i think score highest as defining greats. Im sure there are quite a few more that could score in the high 50's, but i doubt anymore could score as high as 60, so i think the top 7 are pretty solid, for me anyway.

It looks quite abit different to my usual list hich is usuall based strongly on H2H. However this list is based around defining great fighters, with attributes and accomplishments which are in my opinion needed to reach the highest echelon

You don't really seem to know what you're talking about with half of the fighters, but interesting format, nonetheless.

i'll read it more thoroughly but i like the list and your criteria. for the purposes of equality i would personally make the overcoming size disadvantage to out of 5 rather than 3 in order to further seperate fighters or be a bit more critical (ie: robinson should be lower than duran or armstrong in this criteria for me)

Even I think that's absurdly high for Holyfield.

    Also, Ezzard Charles hates you.

    Creative list anyway.

Nice list. I don't totally agree. The only one that I STRONGLY disagree with is Holyfield. I am glad to see Sugar Ray Robinson # 1 and Harry Greb not far behind. I am also glad to see Sugar Ray Leonard there.

    Well done, interesting stuff.

Greb should deffo' be 10/10 for 'stylistic range' though IMO.

An interesting list with some inspired features.

I was surprized not to see Jim Jeffries or Jack Dempsey featured however.
