The rematch won't happen there's no demand for it. PBF was is complete controll in that fight.

Very true, and I agree. The problem is that Floyd and Manny are the only two superstars in boxing who can generate insane PPV numbers and they fight very infrequently (especially Floyd), so when they do fight even when it's against someone we don't care as much to see them face, we end up watching. It would be like if the Michael Jordan Bulls only played a couple times a year and they played an expansion team or the Clippers. You would ***** and complain, but you would still watch.

    You are right.
It's more like The Marbly Marvin Hagler ran off to make Italian porn to not face Leonard again in a rematch. :yep

I really hope you are right, but I have been hearing that they are discussing it. You have to channel Floyd and think like him. Imagine if you cared more about your undefeated record than your legacy or the fans and were looking for low risk/high reward and had a choice between Pacquiao (risk and reward are equally huge), Sergio Martinez (even bigger risk/lower reward), Khan (relatively high risk/lower reward due to Khan being an international draw) or a rematch with Ortiz (very low risk/high reward) Who would you fight?

Yes. Its an easy fight for Floyd and Ortiz is so overmatched that he is just happy not to have to pay the enterance fee to see Floyd fight.

And if it doesn't happen there are only two interesting fights for Floyd... Sergio and Pac. And Floyd seems happy for any fight that can help him avoid them.

It doesn't matter when it happens. Floyd is still gonna spank Manny's ass. Sure Manny present a legit threat to Floyd, but lets cut through the **** guys ... love him or hate him Floyd is the master in that ring.

I agree that he is the superior boxer and I lean towards him winning that fight, but that fight will not happen because Floyd would rather fight two guys who present less of a threat to his undefeated record than one guy who will and who he would have to split the pot with 50/50. A guy like Ortiz gives Mayweather a hard on because Ortiz is very low risk and will only get about 2MM and Mayweather gets the lion's share. Even if the pot is slightly smaller for a rematch, it's still large enough.

Now that I think of it, I wouldnt be surprised if this rematch happens. It's an easy payday for Floyd and they could sell it considering the first fight was somewhat competitive. A typical Floyd move.

lol , was there any demand for PBF - Ortiz?

It's gonna come down to the PPV numbers. If there good, then I wouldn't be surprised to see a rematch.

The guys I had over for the fight thought the same thing: a rematch will sell.

It makes sense, Ortiz had a moment or two, the sides agree on testing and have gotten a deal done once (no small feat with Mayweather involved) and it provides a somewhat valid excuse to put off May/Pac until this matter is resolved.
