Could Victor intentionally butted Floyd to get out of the fight?

We all know Victor has a history of quitting against Maidana and he was losing badly against Floyd from Rounds 1 to 3 and the first half of the 4th. He was outclassed in every facet of the fight and maybe Ortiz thought butting Floyd and getting Disqualified is better than getting pummeled the whole fight and gets embarrassed. Is it possible?

Its very possible. Its a tricky question, I'm not really sure but I'd like to hear some other opinions.

Thats why I think it might be true. He didn't seem at all worried or angry after the fight, he look happy/relieved. Maybe he was still in shock though...

No one is saying he took those two punches willingly, he was trying to get DQed for the jumping headbutt is what people are saying.

From rounds 1-3 Floyd was toying with him. After three rounds Maybe he thought there's no way he could win so might as well get out while he's not yet battered and bruised. And what better way to get out than to intentionally headbutt your opponent. That was an automatic DQ in my opinion cause he literally lunge himself to get to Floyd's face. Floyd could've had a broken nose or lips with that one.

He was patting every member of Floyd's team after he got sucker-punch. I mean, WTF? You just got ****ed real bad with a cheap shot and you act like it was ok. If that was Judah theyll need the whole security force to stop cause he will whine and cry and try to kill anyone lol

I disagree that Floyd was 'toying' with him. In the first 2 rounds Ortiz was definitely doing better than I expected him to. Fair enough in rounds three and four Floyd was starting to pull away, Ortiz had him against the ropes but not a lot of punches were landing. Its possible just got frustrated with Floyds defense.

The way I see it Ortiz had the 'if he plays dirty, I play dirty' mentality in camp, Floyd's elbows, shoulders, hold & hit, other tactics are visible on tape and Vic might've worked to match the dirt, but overplayed it by large.

The irony of course is that the people supporting Floyd's "if we go down the street better be ready" mentality might not realize maybe Mayweather started the whole thing before the first bell, before the choking at the weigh-in - what if youngsters like Vic read Floyd's work as 'there's some dirt necessary to succeed'? Look at his buddy Ward, same thing. The blame is on Ortiz entirely, he got what he asked for, but then again: he was fighting Floyd Mayweather Jr., so my take is that he prepared for bending the rules himself.

    I don't know. I didn't notice this because I didn't see much of the post-fight.

I think the intentional but was basicly a young fighter getting a little over excited when he started to have some success in the fight, but I also think that the tactics of him smoothering his head in Floyds chest was basicly to keep himself out of the way of that uppercut.
The headbutt was intentional nobodys argued that, but to get out of the fight no ****ing way, if anything he may have used that inretaliation to Floyd using his elbow in there, to me he was fighting fire with fire.

nah i think it was a little bit frustration and trying to get at Floyd in any way.
