It wasn't granite in the Tszyu fight, he smothered Kostas punching range to minimise damage. Always above average, below solid. He had heart, that carried him through rough patches.
I also think that moving up to welterweight didn't help his training/preparation, think his good period would have lasted longer had he stayed at LWW.
His chin deteriorated as he was constintly hit on it. It just wore down after time, which is pretty common. There's no shame about being KO'ed by Pac and Mayweather. His chin was pretty good, never granite
Good but not great chin, took too many shots in his career which obviously weakend it..,i think any version of Ricky Hatton gets destroyed by Pacman..
In the grand scheme of things, not as bad as some suggest. Not a froch-esque chin, but good enough to get him to where he got too. Only got knocked out by the elite
Zoo ruined it imo, he took some bombs that night from a very decent puncher, that night he showed an awesome chin, subsequently, not so clever, got rocked to his boots by Lazcano and even looked a little troubled by Paulie. Pre zoo B+/A- post zoo c-
It had micro fractures after zoo, big cracks after mayweather and was absoloutley smashed to bits by the turnbuckle.
