Going from 4 or 5 fights a year to 2 after Kostya did him no favours. He got so ****ing fat between fights he pissed his best years away.

He only fought three top level fighters. One was shot who he beat in fairness and then he got utterly destroyed by the other two. He was a well managed WBU hype job, nothing more. Khan at 23 has already equaled his achievements.

You know levels of fighters exist in between ATGs and "ordinary"?

i think rickys chin was weakened by using it as his main defence.....over time its gonna get a bit weaker.......

on ricky putting weight on inbetween fights, after ricky turned 25 ish he carried on what he was allways doing cos he thought that was his winning ticket, it eventually caught up with him and his metabolism slowed down and his weight balooned out of the ring.....

i can remember ricky saying this is my last fry up before i go into training, so he must have had a fry up every day for brekkie!....i just think ricky done things the way he done them due to being unbeaten, lets say he got beat earlier in his career i think he would have changed his diet to try and stay fitter inbetween fights.....

nout wrong with having a fry up and a few beers etc as long as you keep jogging and in the gym etc cos if not when you're metabolism catches up with you're intake it has an effect on the whole body, not just the chin....

hatton had a good chin and great heart and hunger (no pun intended) and that showed by his achievements in and out of the ring.....i love ricky (no homo) cos of who he was and how he done it, and when he got beat by floyd i felt like one of my mates had just got beat up......

all things aside everyone does daft **** who are we to judge.....

    i still love ya rick!

He had a good chin, not great but very good. He took good shots from Castillo, Tszyu and Collazo. Floyd broke him down and Pac blasted him out. He had a good chin but unfortunately he was on the end of highlight reel ko.

Hatton was a joke. His chin was glass. A pathetic fighter.

People would attack his chin and say Tszyu ruined it but I don't think that's true whatsoever. An example of a ruined chin is Enzo Maccarinelli, who took some big bombs off Haye then took a big one and got ****ing destroyed in the corner, then on it was ****ing crap. Hatton took a LOT of right hands from Floyd, and there was the fact that he didn't see the last one coming, not to mention the post and he was annoyed and went all out (not saying it wasn't a good shot, because it was the punch, but there were other factors, Floyd beats Hatton anytime), and he took some big shots from Pacquiao too, it was always the one he didn't see that put him down. It wasn't the most granite of chins, it couldn't be on the level of a Froch or Margarito, but he had a great chin.

I agree that taking shots on the chin in every fight would not help him. Surely it would be natural for your brain to shot off quicker if it finds it is under more and more trauma.
