I honestly belive Frankie hits, maybe not the strongest puncher in the world but definatley enough to keep his opponent thinking, the way he whips shots in it looks like there is a good bit behind them, no way has he got feather fists. Who is he going to fight next Purdy or Chavez ?
I say give Frankie a few fights at 147, with what appears to be a new attitude (not saying it wasn't good to begin with). Hopefully 2012 will be a good year for Frankie, with Frank ****** saying fighters will get out more often, wonder if we'll be talking about a world title fight this time next year?
If the man himself says he's getting in shape and is training specifically for welter then I say give him a chance and judge him on his next fight or two. After that it will be obvious where he's at. I think he's probably learnt from his mistakes and his now gonna start making some good progress. We shall see.
Good luck Frankie, if you're in good nick, you have the skills to compete at 147, look forward to seeing how it all plays out :good Purdy is a good start into moving into quality 147lb opposition. He's had two resounding wins over (classy) Watson, so if you do a job on him you'll be one of our best Welters. I'd recommend taking on Matty Hatton afterwards if you pull it off :yep Makes so much sense.
Chavez would be a dangerous fight for Gavin, I would give anybody with power a chance to beat Frankie and Chavez has pretty good power. I hope i can get some good odds on a KO win for Chavez if the fight is made.
Aye, some good opportunities out there domestically. Vassell, Brook and I think Theopane wouldn't mind heading to 147 for a scrap with him (if the terms are right of course):bbb There seems to be a deal on how Frankie isn't "muscular enough" but the only to improve that aspect of his physique is to go up in weight. I hope he does well at the 147 lbs and not having to worry about the scale should help him mentally imo.
