    ...besides Tyson.

They have both surpassed Oscar de la Hoya. And yes, I realize Oscar is a large part of the reason they are where they are.

Manny has a 1mil+ PPV in each of the last 4 years.

    2008 - Pac-DLH
    2009 - Pac-Cotto
    2010 - Pac-Margarito
    2011 - Pac-Mosley

This has NEVER been done before.

Floyd holds the PPV record (yes, with significant help from Oscar) and EVERY fight of his is basically guaranteed 1mil+ (same as Pac).

    Money-DLH - 2mil+
    Money-Hatton - 950k
    Money-JMM - 1mil
    Money-Mosley - 1.4mil

If you look at Oscar's PPV history, he would hit 1mil about every other fight or so, but he'd also have fights against lesser known opponents that did not sell well. His fight against Sturm, for example, only sold 380,000 PPVs and that was for a record 6th title! Pacquiao sold nearly twice as much against a similarly unknown fighter in Clottey, and there were no all-time records at stake. I expect Mayweather-Ortiz to sell 1mil+ easily.

Not to mention, these are two of the best boxers that ever laced 'em up. How many times are the 2 best fighters of an era fighting in the same weight division at the same time?

Mayweather-Pacquiao is the biggest fight in the history of boxing.

    **** you.

It's true. I was just thinkin' earlier how back as late as '06 - '07 450K was a really good number for PPV. Now a days, with these two goin', less than 1 mil is a disappointment.

****, back then 250 was the norm and considered good.

well. I a have always thought that some of these guys buy the ppv's themselves to get the numbers. kinda like some record companies buy their artists record the first week to gaive it attention. UFC fights garner loads of ppv buys so these boxers make sure they nothing in the air! they make sure that the ppv pulls in numbers.

dont mention there are a billion other ways to order a ppv these days rather than in 1990 when only parts of the u.s. could you even even order a ppv.." check your local cable provider to see if available in your area"

DLH definitely helped make them huge stars. Floyd wont do anything close to 2.4 without DLH or Pac now, but Mayweather was the perfect fit, DLHs closest to 2million was 1.4 against Tito. And they did a million more. It wasn't solely because of DLH. It was more like 60/40 DLH / May. Even more equal possibly.

I agree Mayweather-Pacquaio is the biggest fight, in a lot of ways.

I am very impressed with how Floyd holds the record for UK PPVs @ 1.2mil. He managed to beat Tyson in this department.
