My New Top 10 P4P Defining Great fighter list

Nah, that's a good post. Greb's style seemed to be the ultimate jazz style though I would say that it pivoted off swarming. He could also be a defensive fighter who relied on legs -shooting in and around his man at angles. As per the swarming, witnesses and fight reports constantly refer to him as landing "more gloves than [fighter x] thought were ever manufactured" and any number of like analogies. Greb could also box well outside and at times showed characteristics of a puncher, at least earlier in his career.

 

How does Holyfield score lower on "overcoming size disadvantages" than Sugar Ray Leonard, or Duran even ?

Holyfield fought good fighters who had 20-30 pounds on him.

So, with him being optimally sized, would you consider him to having the size advantage over Lewis and Bowe then ?

Yeah, Calzaghe's style seems to be close. Jazzy. Ruining rhythm. Speedy. Angles. Unorthodox.

I immediately discounted this when I saw Manny Pacquiao on it.

 

kmcc, I think Pachilles was going for the top ten of fighters he is familiar with, so, while he is familiar with a lot of fighters, the candidate list probably isn't exhaustive.

 

Hey I just gave up the championship of the world because that mean boy in front of me made a clowning face!

But yeah, Leonard, who pretty much defined fighting spirit when he overcame his trouble against Hearns, the size disadvantage against Hagler, and managed to do well in rounds 14 & 15 against Duran after taking grueling punishment, should get fewer points than Duran here. :huh

 

Now when Chris drew my attention to it (good point) , I do find it ridiculous .
It is even more ridiculous since Pachilles is a known Duran hater , although it's not d first time he includes him in his top 10 p4p .
And BTW , 4 all d queens around d board that thought that my post in this thread was my p4p list , it wasn't . Just brought other fighters than Pachilles' 4 a good measure as I stated , not my p4p list . For that , I made my own list which isn't here , and many of those queens here actually know it .

 

Very cool breakdown. You obviously did some research. However Pacquiao and Holyfield in the top 10 is very far fetched. The top 50 would for sure, at least in the case of Holyfield. Pacquiao...jury is still out unless him and Floyd Square up soon or he fights a young lion. His recent run has been against inferior opppostion and used up opponents.
