Was at ringside when he knocked Kevin Pompey cold. Harold looked so serious coming into the ring. Everyone expected a distance war, but suddenly it was over!

Harold is the perfect specimen of what I call a world-class club fighter. That's a compliment, not an insult: to me, it describes a fighter who doesn't have world-class physical skills -- not world-class in speed or power or other naturally-bestowed gifts -- but still manages to compete at the world-class level because of dedication and grit and learned skills.

Brazier, "on paper," should not have been able to go as far as he did. But he did it anyway, because he learned in victory and in defeat and he was never, ever in less than great shape (that I ever saw) and he fought with determination and believed in himself.

I was and remain a huge fan.

Sweet, you said, "for some strange reason it was ruled a slip". Watch the first Coggi-Eder Gonzalez fight and you will never say "for sopme strange reason" again. What the Argentine officials got away with that night was pugilistic murder. So not recognising the knockdown is simply par for the course in Buenos Aires.

Amazing that he did those things, and yet was bombed out so badly against Livingstone Bramble - which is the only time I ever saw, or heard of Brazier being stopped.

Yeah, I mean he faced some pretty big hitters in his time, Lloyd Honeyghan, Roger Mayweather, Vince Phillips and he handled their punches quite well, it was weird that Bramble sparked him like he did.

Bramble did stop him but Brazier had a torn rotator cuff in that bout which prevented Brazier from getting his left hand all the up.
