Except that doesn't apply to the heavyweight division because there can be great weight differences unlike every other division where the opponents weigh the same.

In the Haye-Klitschko fight Haye weighted 210 and Wlad 242. That means Haye's weight is .867 of Klitschko's which is almost the exact equivalent of a welterweight and a super-middleweight.

    Wlad is obviously better P4P.

He's clearly a more skillful boxer, despite his giant size.

PFP always is in favor of the smaller guy because the size advantage is taking away in a PFP hypothetical so got to go Haye here.

The OP is asking if Wlad and Haye both had the skillsets they had now but Wlad doesn't have a huge size/weight difference, does Wlad still beat him

    Probably not

But Wlad is still the more complete boxer, his balance & footwork are better, along with his experience and ring generalship

However Hayes incredible athleticism/speed/power could well negate that, given that when they fought Hayes main obstacle seemed that he was unable to deal with fighting someone as big/skilled as Wlad (he wasn't able to find a solution to Wlad leaning/stepping back etc)

On a sidenote, I've been away on holiday, has there been any Haye/Vitali progress?

Other than Perez blasting Fury out of the water thats all I've got to look forward to in HW for a while

The Brits just wont let go of Haye. Man, the dude is garbage and finished. If he fights Vitali he is going to get hurt this time. Now, put Hatton's heart in David Haye and you would have a Natural Born Killer....

Hayes is a great fighter, this question, "is hayes a better p4p boxer then wlad" is a fair one, today, i would have hayes in the top 20 p4p boxers, his speed awsume, power another great aspect to his game, movement great. The quesition is a fair one, i think if he took the time to actually build himself at heavweight, he could of been great, but he went for the gold which was wlad an he payed. 2012 should of been his year to fight wlad, an he should of had about 8 fights at heavy before doing so.....Saying this, hayes would of been great, but he never would of been greater then wlad, you could take 20 pounds off of wlad, his boxing skills alone would of won him the fight, he had a very hard punch when he weighted 225, go look at some of his early fights, his speed was even greater, if wlad barley gets hit at 240 at 220 i think it would even be harder......The p4p debate should be there cause of hayes skill, but it should also end with wlad winning the debate by a far margin
