I like Chauncy, he seems like a nice guy. But it's time to step up your ****ing competition, man!
By beating dozens of Boxrec #200-400 guys he somehow made it into the WBC #15, but how is he ever going to be ready for a title shot fighting no hopers like that? Even Butterbean has better victories than Chauncy.

I get it.....Butterbean beat MCNeely right...a real ****ing top contender. Anyways, the same Butterbean was smoked by a 50 y/o Larry Holmes 4 years prior.
Anyways, I like BB, and I liked McNeely, and I loved Holmes, and I like Arreola, and I like Welliver.....but Welliver can only fight who accepts his offers.....He's been chasing Barrett, Arreola, and top names for for the last 2 yrs...yeah KJ ran his mouth about a fight, but when contract time comes around, where is it, where is he?

Talk about being artificially ranked......WTF is so good about Arreola's record beating journeymen then being hailed as the great fight for Wlad in Dec? Mormeck has wins over 2 top 15s in the last 16 months, but Arreola beats 5 cans in a row, and suddenly he's this top contender again...

Look...If Rahman gets his title shots by fighting the C/D class, and Arreola gets his title shot fighting the same classes, and those same guys duck Welliver, then what's that say about our ability to look at a fighters potential if we are heralding them as the best challenger?

:patsch That's about par for course. He ducks Johnson and "try like hell" for a fight against an old shot to hell Monte Barrett on the same card. BTW Monte got a draw, not an ass kicking.

It's pretty lame that a 28 yr old only has the courage to call out 40+ yr olds. When is he gonna grow some stones and call out someone like Helenius, Fury, Boytsov....they're all ranked, and deserved so.....unlike Chauncy

How much better is Firtha and McDermott than Calloway? And btw.....IF Fury is saved by a ref vs Firtha, how is he deservedly ranked?

Which speaks to Wellivers activity, experience, and durability. Never even seriously hurt in any of those 50+ fights.

Fury however was seriously hurt by both Chisora and Firtha, guys which could NEVER hurt Welliver, and would be KOd or easily UD'd by the same.:nono

You can claim Fury was hurt in those fights, but he won them nonetheless. Welliver was rocked by Solis, and lost by TKO.

Basically they are fighting the same level of opponent, though I'd say the edge would go to Fury (Firtha and McDermott are 31-32 yrs old, opposed to a 42 yr old Calloway), and again Welliver has over 50 fights to Furys 16 which goes to speak on how Welliver is a joke.

Just because Welliver's racked up a bunch of wins over tomato cans and department store mannequins doesn't validate him as a fighter worthy of a top 15 ranking.

Haha you are so right. But if you are going in the ring with them, the only proper plan is 1 to win. The fans don't like anybody who says they should fight a Klit or beat a Klit.

My main point is this. Welliver is ready to have the fights to earn a Klit fight. Fury should be easy pickings, Tua is the same, Johnson is an easy score as well. Rahman would be schooled, Meehan would be taken care of. All those types of fights.

And then my other point is, that Chauncy would put on a much better performance than many of the Klit challengers when he gets there.

If they need a dance partner, he is ready to take 1 of them out right now though. He will show up with late notice but he will bring the longstanding plan to win with him. After the fight we might have to rename him The Bulldozer. You have to run these guys over to win. Holding back like Helenius would do is not going to work. Someone has to stick a few horns into the matador. Welliver would do that. :bbb

Toss Tauasa and Calloway in with Firtha and McDermott and you have a wide open tourney. Any of the 4 could win that. And Tauasa and Calloway beat both of the undefeated guys Fury beat easily. The only edge he has in competition is Chisora who was way overrated. Chauncy could have easily outworked him too. Fury was damn lucky the guy came so out of shape as Fury is still a year or 2 from being in top HW shape. Fury was dead tired himself. He was caught with every shot Chisora could throw.

Fury is being rushed. He is raw. Welliver had a slow climb from a toughman fighter at 16 and a pro at 18. But he is in top shape and much more prime and polished than Fury. When Chauncy was 23 he didn't have hisd man strength yet either. Fury is nowhere near his peak yet. Welliver is coming up on his peak right now.

They would have a great fight HW FOY candidate for sure. But Welliver would outwork Fury pretty clearly right now.

Fury's handlers know he can't take a punch. He makes the pre Manny Wlad look like Oliver McCall in the chin dept.

Welliver is an accumulation puncher, and would likely stop Fury in the midlate rounds.

While I'd really LOVE to see this fight, it's highly unlikely since now Fury is top 10 ranked by most ABSs, he'll likely be fighting the same cans Welliver has been knocking over since he was a 300lb toughman competitor.

While I really like Welliver, this isn't dancing with the stars, and either Klitschko would dominate him and prolly TKO him......

but like you said......he'd definitely put a better fight than we're used to seeing by the likes of Adamek, Haye, Austin, Solis etc etc etc.
