What exactly do you think you landed in rounds 1-8 to earn you points while getting touched up with right jabs? You rocked him a bit in the last six minutes. Before that? Rounds one through eight? We know you didn't land anything. We saw it. You know you didn't. You felt it (or, more accurately - didn't).
he landed enough - and threw real punches to edge a few rounds early going b4 round 8 although I agree by 8 Gomez was probably ahead. - after that it was fairly 1 sided - good call - I'm no ding a ling nuthugger but he deserved the win here.
JCG earned this loss because he pawed with his jab, offered almost no combination punching and was in retreat or hold mode almost the entire fight. I watched it too IB, and while your right that Ding wasn't able to land much, JCB shoulda at least put SOMETHING on his jab, threw more than 1-2 punches at a time, and not acted like he was facing the real Iron Mike Tyson in the process. If that's really you DING......congrats on your top 20 win. You earned it with your constant, unrelenting aggression.....I was so hoping you'd wipe that smirk of Gomez face for all the times you got him, but he laughed it off, a true sign that you got him. And BTW.... don't mind my post in the RBR, the first part was strictly a gag. :good
hmm, let me think about this for a second...... My OPPONENT, the fans, commentators, the judges and the promoter felt I won without question, but.... I better hurry and let JC Gomez know that the almighty IntentionalButt on ESB felt that he won the first 8 rounds.........even though he told me himself that I won. Maybe I should not celebrate that I just beat the WBC#7 heavyweight. WTF :huh He landed maybe three left hands all night. A jab doesn't score better than the bone-crushing body shots I hit him with. Also, anytime he thought about putting punches together, he got countered and got discouraged because I have recently realized that I was a devastating puncher at heavyweight due to what happened several times in the world class sparring I had leading up to the fight. Power was there prior, I just didn't have the confidence that I had elite heavyweight power. I hit him hard as **** to the body starting from round one. Watch what happens if I get this possible fight with Manuel Charr.:hey
Not as bad as getting knocked out in 1 round by Yaqui Diaz. And you cant blame Germany because Gomez is the hometown fighter and Wilson the American opponent just there to take a lose.
its cool you remembered what happened in that fight especially in the seventh round. Nobody really got to see it, unless you were there unfortunately. I was much smaller physically than I am now. An example is a 17.5 inch neck then versus a 20.5 inch now. I'm just letting the fellow posters know that I should have been a heavy since '08. Coming from 235 was hell. It was similar to trying to make David Tua get to 210. :tired
:scaredas::scaredas::scaredas: Congrats on tonight by the way. We're proud of you! :happy PS - Please kill Charr. Kind regards - ESB
Good job Ding. That Gomez has always stuck me as being a dickhead? Great win. I gotta admit that Gomez is one of the greatest CW's of all time that you beat.
Oops, I forgot to put it more clearly. My body shots were far more effective punches (like what they score pro fights on) than the less than 25 CLEARLY landed jabs over 10 fuggin rounds. Thank goodness you're not a judge. :smoke Perhaps the judges gave it to me simply because some fans were screaming before the scores were announced that I won.:think I must concede and face the facts...You are the man!!! :thumbsup BTW, if you ever have time, come down to Miami and spar with me. We'll do a cool experiment. I'll let you hit me with half strength jabs like JC did and then I'll hit you with body shots. We'll post a video, do a poll and let the forum (and you, lol) decide what was more effective. :deal
