Well, yeah, he was given some gift decisions (Perez I; Harada II; Ebihara II). But he did acquit himself well in the 2nd Perez fight. So, 'World Flyweight Champion'? Absolutely.

3 time Flyweight champion? Absolutely not.

Matt Skelton, now I didn't/don't mind him too much as a fighter, but I think he overacheived.

I have to agree with whoever called Carl Froch...

He surprised me with the Pascal win, Taylor win and Abraham win - all fights that I thought Carl would lose but he consistently surprises me.

His low slung guard, being relatively easy to hit and his love of a good dust up are all warning signs to me and I think he's got his amazing chin, great engine and overall toughness to thank for his achievements so far.

    How about current guys?

Matt Hatton, you could question the level he has fought at but I know nobody could have predicted Matt Hatton having a career at a decent level. I think he has done remarkably well from where he was 3-4 years ago.

Martin Rogan did far more than I expected. Not his finest hour at the moment but winning Prizefighter then beating Audley and then the win against Skelton who'd just won the European was a tremendous run

John Ruiz should never be mentioned in these kind of topics, he was tough, had a decent workrate, could take a decent shot, and was game.

Fair enough he didn't have all the athleticism in the world, but in my opinion he wasn't a bad fighter, he was a tough fighter.

    "And a decent world champion"

Baldomir and Matt Hatton, to me at least, are great examples of boxers operating at a level seemingly beyond their talent because of experience. Not many fighters around have more than 40 fights.

Anyway my pick is Battling Siki.
