    No way.

Just for dominating LW for like 8 years, going up, beating some good fighters like Carlos Palomino, THEN beating PRIME Sugar Ray Leonard. That's enough to make him an ATG .

His accomplishments later on are just icing on the cake. Even when he was older and far past his prime he gave young champs like Vinnie Paz and Macho Camacho (Duran arguably won the 1st match) tough fights

    No.

Certain people overrate him, but he's accomplished so much that it's actually kind of hard to overrate him P4P, in terms of his many accomplishments and H2H ability. There's an element of nostalgia there, but it's born from witnessing one of the best and most exciting fighters to ever lace them up.

At one point even Freddie Roach said Pac wouldn't beat Duran.

He supposedly changed his mind later on though

The International Boxing Research Organization (IBRO) who's only purpose is to track and evaluate boxers over an extended period of time (ie since the sport began) lists Duran as 7th on the all time p4p list and having watched boxing for about 40 years now, that ranking, or close to it, also works for me.

I'm sure someone will say he's rated to high ..The mere fact that anyone could even call the" hands of stone" overrated or suggest it is just baffling to me ..What more does a guy have to do to prove's he great ? Catch a bullet in his teeth ?:huh

This is your second thread about this, P. Why the hatchet for Duran? Did he beat a favorite of yours?

**** no. Duran's accomplishments are nothing short of amazing and his skill level is the very highest I've ever had the privilege of seeing. Anybody who doesn't consider Duran one of the ten greatest fighters, at the very least, to ever step into a boxing ring automatically loses any credibility.
