The Sumerians weren't able to build anything that came anywhere close to the Great Pyramid @ Giza.

As "useless" as you claim it to be, the FACT remains that the Great Pyramid is a technological wonder that eclipses, literally and figuratively, anything Ancient Egypt's contemporary neighbors were able to produce.

FACTS, learn to live with them...

Also, I did mention the Hyksos's swords, chariots, lamellar armor, recurved bows, bronze, and horses. Those are pretty easy to prove, since not only does pretty much every high school and college textbook note them, but Wikipedia even provides a convenient footnote: Winlock, Herbert E., The Rise and Fall of the Middle Kingdom in Thebes. You can also check out Osprey military publishing's book about the Egyptian military in the New Kingdom, and T. Save-Soderbergh's The Hyksos Rule in Egypt article. You can also read Manetho about the Hyksos conquest if you're feeling bored.

I see. So, you have people who have lived in the tropics for a long time, have "super-negroid" body plans and also happen to be indigenous to the African continent.

Yet you still want to wear your rose colored glasses?

    Ok, I'll play along.

Exactly what other "variables" need to be considered?

I can't wait to hear this...

I'll answer for you. The first great fighters of the division, imo, where john l sullivan and peter jackson. The two never fought each other nor did they beat anyone you would define as significant. Yet they are greats and it can't be denied. What did either of these do what wladimir hasn't done himself?

Not get knocked out by a *38* year old semi-retired pro golfer?

    Does that answer your question?

OK, first things first: the Great Pyramid was an impressive feat of engineering. With that being said...

I mentioned that the pyramids were useless to suggest that a lot of other societies could have built pyramids, but wisely chose not to. Other centralized, primitive societies in the New World built pyramids that were as impressive as the Great Pyramid. None of these societies were as advanced as the Egyptians' neighbors. So why do Egypt's pyramids impress you so much?

That isn't a fact. It's an opinion. Personally, I find bronze weapons, chariots, recurved bows, swords, domesticated horses, and chariots more impressive than pyramids...And so did the Egyptians who got run over by them.

    They're in Egypt.

The Hyksos killed the former owners with the aforementioned chariots, recurved bows, bronze weapons, swords, lamellar armor, and domesticated horses. :hey

This is your opinion. Where is the evidence to support it?

There were NO Hyksos in Egypt when the Great Pyramid was built.

    Care to explain?

Yes, they display those trivial traits as he called it but as a whole, they show ties with the European Neolithic, North Africa, modern Europe, and, more remotely, India, but not at all with sub-Saharan Africa, eastern Asia, Oceania, or the New World

And whom modern Egyptians share lineage from.

We conclude that the Egyptians have been in place since back in the Pleistocene and have been largely unaffected by either invasions or migrations. As others have noted, Egyptians are Egyptians, and they were so in the past as well.

Egypt has experienced several invasions during its history. However, these do not seem to account for more than about 10% overall of current Egyptians ancestry when the DNA evidence of the ancient mitochondrial DNA and modern Y chromosomes is considered.

    Yes. It went like this:

    1) Egyptians build the Great Pyramid.

    2) Egyptians stagnate throughout the rest of the Old and Middle Kingdom.

    3) Hyksos enter Egypt with vastly superior weaponry, say "Hey, nice pyramid", and take it. Along with everything else.

    4) Egyptians cry. Their dead god-kings do not hear them.

    5) Egyptians regret investing so much time and energy in such a useless engineering project.

New Kingdom Egypt did not build pyramids either. Perhaps they were less technologically advanced than Old Kingdom Egypt?

In any event, I already provided my evidence: Other civilizations with an inferior level of technological development to ancient Egypt built pyramids as well. It's not that impressive.

It's obviously my opinion, so I don't need "evidence" to support it. That was my point. Just as it's your opinion that pyramids are more impressive.

But between advanced weaponry (my preference) and a giant pile of rock (your preference), advanced weaponry is a heck of a lot more practical. I don't see how you can even dispute this.

    Now you're just being dishonest. Let's take a look again at what Brace said;
Do you know what craniofacial means? It means that Brace made his assumptions based on Ancient Egyptian's FACIAL features - essentially ignoring the rest of the skeleton.

Do you really want to hang your argument on this single piece of evidence?

    Oh really?
If Brace is right, then the original people who would later become the Ancient Egyptians have their origin in the Sudan according to Vogel.

    Would you care to explain?
