Hey fella's. I was just thinking of the fight and how it would go down, seeing as it's signed, so I thought I'd make a thread to see what's people's opinion's and break down's on how the fight would go. Pretty shite at breaking fighters down myself so was hoping someone would give a little insight and how they think it's going to go down.

Personally, from watching Peterson, I don't give him a massive chance, but I'm still interested because when comparing him to Amir's last few opponents, Peterson really is a live fighter in comparison to Malignaggi, Judah and McCloskey. The last solid Boxer to give Amir a pretty tough, albeit one sided fight was Kotelnik, and Peterson for me, may possibly just be a level above Kotelnik.

Another thing Peterson brings is his size and the man is very fundamentally solid as well. He's probably the first guy Amir's going to face at 140 who's just as big as him, but at the end of the day this probably won't matter too much. I may be wrong in saying this, but watching Peterson almost reminds me of Amir but a much slower version and maybe not as technically sound. He throws a lot of hooks that you can see a mile away at times.

My personal prediction is Amir will just be too fast for him. I can imagine Peterson will try to 'outbox the boxer', but Amir will just be one step ahead of him and use a lot of angles to create openings. I've got Amir by UD.

Not a very good breakdown, I know, but what's your take on how it'll go, how Peterson/Amir should fight and who will be the winner.

Will post a few video's if anyone wants to watch before they give their breakdown or prediction.

Khan basically punches Peterson in the face for 12 rounds.

Everything Peterson does, Amir does better. He is faster, stronger, heavier handed and is simply a better boxer. Peterson is a good fighter no question, but he loses a very wide UD in this 1.

    No idea. Hope not!

Yeah. Would have been happier if it was Matthysse, but Team Khan won't look there now, especially with the move up coming soon and a potential Mayweather fight on the horizon.

id rather amir brought forward his move to 147 than taken this fight with peterson personally. just think he could have come up maybe generated some big headlines by giving kell brook a spanking or taken on a top 10 welter

i think khans too quick for peterson who himself is a nice boxer but just dosent have the atrributes to truoble khan, unless he's managed to develop a better jab in the last few months, for his height and reach advantage in the 140 class he really should have a proper jab rather than just a proder

Stylistically its a boring fight for Khan (easy fight as well), this fight does nothing for me. he should have just moved up to 147 instead as this fight does nothing for him.

I quite like the fight for Khan actually. Gives him a good chance to further implement some of the things Roach is teaching him relatively risk-free. Peterson is decent so Khan will have to be patient but I think he will dominate from early in the fight and win a wide decision. Maybe a knockdown a piece to make it more interesting:good
