Okay. Let's look here. You call yourself 'Whipdatass'. You have an obsession with Manny Pacquiao's knockout defeats. I'm going to take a wild stab in the dark here, but you're a Floyd Mayweather Jr fan. A black Floyd Mayweather Jr fan? :bbb Am I close?

I believe Hearns honestly. But the general consensus is Duran because of a lightweight reign which is exceptional but nothing to warrant 1-10 ATG. Hearns beat and stopped greats more than Duran did no matter what is said. He did. That is a fact. Cuevas for his first title, Benitez for his second. Virgil Hill at 175. undefeated champ who had 10 title defenses. Hearns gets a bad rap for the Leonard and Hagler fights. He lost his two biggest fights. I remember when he beat Virgil Hill he hardly got any credit. Had another fighter like Charles Williams beaten Hill he would have had acclaim. Tommy did not get any really. Why? He lost to Ray and Marvin when he was prime. Tommy is underrated.

You never made that a criteria for discussion. All you have is "Has there ever been as conclusive and end to a fight as this? Hearns vs. Duran 19" and a clip of the KO, but nothing stating whether or not they had to be great.

You can get two bums and one KTFO the other and it would be a similar comparison.

Agreed. When people look at Tommy's career all they see is a Duran Ko, a SRL loss and a Hagler loss. Naivety of boxing fans..

He just never made an impact the way Duran did.

Tommy is not underrated anywhere. He was a great fighter that was a gladiator and fought everyone, and is treated as such by boxing fans universally.Everyone I personally know admits Tommy was a great fighter. Here on these boards,he almost universally gets the credit, too. But he could be vulnerable due to his not fantastic chin. You wrote that Tommy gets a bad rap for the Hagler and Leonard fights, but I seem to remember a 29 year old,45+ fights, close to prime Tommy getting starched by tough, big, but certainly not great middleweight Iran Barkley.Despite that big loss, everyone still admits Tommy was a great fighter.
