To wild for boxing, wide shoots he gets carried away often and will be punished for that against boxers, he has great power in both hands but his chin is at least suspect he wont do good!!!
OK guys, I should be rooting for my countryman here, but I can't with a straight face. I would like to see Badr vs Kimbo, first to connect clean wins :yep
I just heard that and I think it's a terrible idea. He's got pretty good and efficient boxing for Kickboxing but he'll get nowhere in boxing. Sucks, really, it shows how organisation like K1 have money problem when their biggest star is quitting the sport. He's too much of a brawler really, and even if you tell me that he wont be cause he'll have a proper boxing trainer, I think he'll stay the same because he fights on instinct and get carried away way too easily in a fight. And, yes, his chin is a problem, considering that most kickboxer learn to go real hard in sparring, their chins become shot faster than boxers.
His chin has been cracked a number of times. He'll get brutally k.o.'d by anyone with a pulse in boxing.
Yep, thats the real issue here. You have to win the whole freakin' K1 World Heavyweight final to get a $400.000 payday. And the guy's actually the biggest star, but never even won it. He either got KO'd or DQ'd :yep
He is explosive, has size and power. But he doesn't have a jab and hardly throws any straight punches. His chin is also a big big questionmark. If I remember right, Schilt almost knocked him out with a jab in that K1 final. That being said, with his bad guy image he could be an attraction if he does better than expected.
I think we did this thread before. It was a pretty even split between those who thought that his chin would be prohibiitve, and those who thought his size, power and athleticism would make him a good prospect. I know nothing about the matter, but in the past, when his chin was "exposed," was it by a punch or a kick? Usually, kickboxers have good beards, and I am thining specifically of Troy Dorsey, James Warring, Vitaly Klitscko, Tex Cobb, and Matt Skelton. Is it possible that his chin will hold up better than some people think?
if he is able to stretch people like that that im all for it. but with them wild swings he will put to sleep up the middle by most decent boxers
Read the post above you :yep He got dropped in almost every big fight he was in. Usually by punches, and not always the very hard ones.
I actually think Schilt did knock him out with a jab, when he losses to a boxer its going to be via big KO
Out of all the top k1 fighters who do you think could have the best shot atbeing succesfull at boxing? maybe schilt or overeem? I agree with the glass chin on badr, It will be interesting to see him fight a real boxer and shut up all these k1 lovers who think every k1 fighter would easily murder a boxer.
