Just sayin', your Messiah is ready and willing to fight blown up LW that he and his team are predicting to destroy, but he won't fight the guys up at 168lbs. I like Martinez, but his chasing of Pacman is worse than Bernards of Tito and DLH.
there goes his excuse..weight drained...no one will come near you sergio because its a lose lose situation for both pac n may
He is not chasing Pac... Pac is smaller than Sergio... He is only mentioning Pac because the real fight Floyd! is not saying anything. But the gain 8 and lose 10 is very understandable... Sergio is naturally about 152 weigh-in. He is only fighting at 160 because he was lured up there by Pavlik. so in reality he is agreeing to lose 2 lbs rather than fighting another 8 lbs over the already 8 lbs he is over his natural fight weight.... 16 lbs!! Sergio and FLoyd need to get it on. End of.
He's willing to drop way more than 10 considering he walks around at like 170, dude is chump, point blank period, but I cant knock him for trying to get a payday, before he gets exposed as the average fighter he is.
"In my interview w/ @maravillabox he said he's willing to go to 150 for Pacquiao or Mayweather or up to 164 to fight a top super middle." -Respected Columnest Dan Rafael
You're just making **** up as you go. He's not been 152lbs since 2005. And why did he weigh in at 158lbs against Dzin if he's such a small man? You can see he's filled out and weighed 168lbs on fight night against Williams in their second bout. So, really... a natural 152lbs'er weighing 168lbs on fight night? Come on man...
Pacquiao is not a blown up Lightweight. Now that is out the way, Mayweather and Pacquiao are the biggest draws in boxing, they get the best numbers and produce the best figures for themselves and whoever they fight. Martinez v either is bigger than anyone who he faces at 160 or 168lbs. He is not a young boxer, he is on a very good streak of opponents...he clearly wants to keep that up by making himself available for the consensus P4P #1 and 2, both of whom have fought inside the Light Middleweight division before. Not sure Martinez would get much credit out of beating either, but I would watch...not sure either would happen though.
Quite understandable. Fighting Pac or Floyd brings a lot more money and he certainly has a shot to beat them, or at least be very competitive. If he does, next for him is another (even better paid) big money mega fight against the other or a rematch. In SMW class he has to beat at least 3 bigger guys to make the money of 1 fight against the above mentioned ones. Most people don't believe either Pac or Floyd will ever become SMW champ if the skill level stays like it is today. So it will always be a harder fight for Sergio, with less pay. If you do this in the same weightclass (chosing the simpler route) you're a ducker, but not if you have to go up for it.
Give it up Sergio, there's plenty of middleweights out there he doesn't even necessarily have to move up to 168 anytime soon
are you stupid? Sergio's trainer said they want to fight Manny. He also says Manny is a easier fight. Sergio does not walk around at 150. The guy is fighting at middle weight.
Exactly...I don't hear Sergio calling out anyone heavier than him. Same as PAC ...he will make sure you are well drained. They have a man-crush on Sergio and they will never be objective!!!
Why argue with a decision that is entirely his? He's a career WW/LMW already fighting biggers guys at MW, why shouldn't he move back down and fight someone his size or smaller for a break? Why afraid of him?
