Nay_Sayer has not yet define "Black"

and has not got past the point, that "Black" and "Race" are concepts that can never be officially defined..

his poor, race-obsessed mind, i feel sorry for

again you fail, cause you cannot define "Black" and "Race"....

you fail, and your arguments are simply pathetic..

without a definition how can you claim egyptians where "Black" when you do not have a definition for "Black"

I'm fine with not using the term.

Still doesn't change the FACT that Ancient Egyptians are TROPICALLY ADAPTED like ALL other Africans.

the fact is Nay_Sayer is a race-obsessed bigot, that wants to claim the Egyptians were "Black" simply so he can feel good about himself, and claim the accomplishments of this civilization..

I'm not going to cite every book I've ever read about Egypt for what's basically a recreational debate on a boxing forum.

As I mentioned earlier: read ancient Egyptian primary sources that talk about foreigners. I'm sure that you can find some translations online. Go to museums with someone who can read hieroglyphs and ask them what the tablets say. Look at the art portraying foreigners.

For example, one of my "sources" was an inscription an acquaintance read to me in Hatshepsut's temple, which describes an expedition to the land of Punt. Punt was located somewhere deeper into Africa than Egypt, and its people were darker than the Egyptians. The inscriptions made it clear -- in a rather condescending way -- that the Egyptians thought that the dark(er) skin was exotic, and noted with pride that they'd brought back a dark-skinned dwarf to entertain the queen.

Note that this has nothing to do with the Egyptians being "black" or not. Even if they were "black", they were lighter than the Punt-people, and clearly displayed what we'd call cultural insensitivity.

(If you want a "source" for this assertion, feel free to visit Deir el Bahari and ask a reliable Egyptologist to read you the inscription. Do not, however, rely upon the locals. They pose as tour guides and pretend that they can read hieroglyphics so that they can cheat you out of your money).

If you walk around the state-run museum in Cairo, you'll see lots of stelae, pieces of monuments, other stone blocks that discuss other countries. They generally say things like, "and the vile peleset, I slew them in their thousands." Occasionally, they'll be a bit nicer: "and the people from the land of such-and-such gave me tribute". Whenever foreigners appear in wall reliefs, they're:

    1) Cowering enemies. These appear in large groups, and a Pharaoh's usually massacring them, like so:

    This content is protected

    2) Conquered enemies / prisoners / slaves. For instance:

    This content is protected

    3) Tributaries. These sometimes appear along with other tributaries from different countries to accentuate their "exotic" appeal. Here are some Nubians:

    This content is protected

That's more or less it. If you want depictions of foreigners who aren't either conquered people, slaves, or cringing tributaries, you'll need to look fairly hard.

If the ancient Egyptians mention a foreign country at all, they generally mention them as conquered enemies. For instance, Israel first appears as Ish-rul in a list of Levantine tribes that the Pharaoh beat up. (Source: I saw the monument and an Egyptologist read it to me).

As for the sandals, I'm pretty sure I saw them in Cairo as well. If not, you could probably find them in most books about ancient Egyptian magic.

If you can't get to Cairo, you can still see most of this stuff in museums. The West looted a lot of this stuff a while ago, and will keep it until Zahi Hawass manages to get it back. Until then, take advantage of it. Bring an Egyptologist along who can read the language.

Says the man who has copied and pasted about 40 excerpts in this thread alone.

You are presuming that the people who wrote the books you read are correct in their assumptions. Cosidering that Archaeology is for the most part based on false assumptions, sketchy evidence and cultural and political bias your arguments don't carry much weight.

Yet considering all this you keep posting quotes as though they are fact. Lambasting anyone who disagrees with you. Actually you would probably make an excellent Archaeologist in light of this.

There is no other field of science where a person with an agenda can claim so much, with so little evidence.

Nay_Sayer is just angry that his great granddaddy was my great granddaddy's slave..

its alright, if a big race war came down, he knows the "whites" would destroy the "blacks"...

OMG im letting out my "racist side" im becoming Nay_Sayer..

truly i don't believe in "Race" since its simply a concept that has do definining meaning, but if Nay_Sayer wants to play the "Race Game" then bring it on
