No shame in losing a close one to a prime De La Hoya. Trinidad was still a formidable fighter at 160 pounds too I reckon. Nothing really showed that he was any less of a fighter than he was at his prime weight, 154, from watching his decimation of William Joppy at least.

I had a lot more respect for Hopkins ability back then, more then most people. Hopkins was a big middle wieght and Trinidad was fighting under 150 pounds most of his career. No shame getting schooled a little bit against Oscar but I knew that Hopkins would be able to take advantage of him based on that fight. Good performance though.

pav was a hit in y'town well before taylor. how do you know he hasnt always enjoyed knocking a few back? all this post taylor meltdown is what you hear...not what you have seen. i hope he gets it together b/c i'm a loyal fan, but i'm not going to blindly believe his problems started there.

Well, I don't live in Yongstown but I heard he started drinking more once he won the title. He may have celebrated quite a bit after winning the middle weight title like a lot of people would. I think its pretty safe to say he started drinking more heavily after he beat Taylor then before but maybe not.

Could be but I can imagine after the big pay day after the Taylor fight he might have started drinking to much. I know if I became the middle weight champion and had about a million dollers I would be doing some heavy duty celebrating
