That's right. Here's bits of an interview found here...
    http://legrandclub.rds.ca/profils/104880/posts/121458/public

Q: What aspects of you as a boxer have changed since your last time in the ring?
A: Most of them, physically and mentally. The way I train, the way I eat, the way I think, the way my team and I approach training... you're gonna see a completely different boxer, I'm more intelligent in the ring, more complete as a fighter. I've seen how it's done basically, watching Sergio Martinez train. I now know what kind of sacrifices you gotta make if you want to be part of the elite, it's up to me to do the same.

Q: What kind of mistakes did you make in your preparation for Rubio?
A: Things like missing a training session, not eating well, long vacation after a fight, not giving 100% in the gym. Now we're getting back on track, we want to reach the top.

Q: And you realized all that training with Martinez?
A: Yeah but at the same time I have a very good trainer who kept on telling me to do this extra training, to not be on vacation too long, to not come home late etc... but I didn't listen, I was fooling around and wasn't serious enough.

    Q: Did you underestimate Rubio?
A: (hesitating) ...yes, yeah from what I had seen he was different, I didn't think he was at that level. I trained well for this one, but a lot of missed training sessions and bad habits caught up to me and I paid for it.

Q: Who are you looking to fight next, what do you need in order to get back to where you were before Rubio?
A: LOL I need a boxer... someone who will give me rounds, who I can eventually get comfortable with in the ring, not someone who's gonna drop when I connect with the first of my shots either, someone who'll allow me to evolve as a fighter.

Q: You said in the past that you didn't value sparring much. Are you going to do more sparring in your future preparations?
A: Yeah well I now see sparring as an important aspect of training, but it comes down to ring feel. When I was training with Martinez, Sergio was in the ring every day, he always had the feel of a guy taking it to him in a ring. It's good if you don't lose that feeling, if you're always used to being in a ring with an opponent.

    *****************************

So he admits his faults, hey he's just a kid FFS. Anber said in his interview he's witnessed major improvement, but that there's still a long road ahead.

They're moving forward, for a start. Lemieux will headline a couple of lower level cards this winter/spring.

In July he said that whenever he would end up getting back to boxing, he'd be meaner than ever. Now he says he'll be back as a more complete fighter... still mean to a certain degree, hopefully.

    :D

Sounds good!! He got serious power at 160 but based on his body I would say 154 could be a good weight for him. Basically he is saying that he is training harder than ever therefore it should be fine (more or less) to drop 6 pounds. He weighted 159 against Rubio so it's possible I think. Especially given the fact that he got a 64'' reach!

He's been training. Apparently a lot (including sessions with Sergio). Anber says there's still lots of work to do before getting in the ring (with top MW's again), that's why we won't see him again before Dec/Jan/Feb... or early March for my birthday.

First fight back will be no more than an above-average lasting bum, no if's or but's. Then a top 15 (not by virtue of rank but by combination of current abilities & past opposition, maybe a style David hasn't seen yet) or top 20. After that we're looking at a do or die fight against a top 5 MW. Fall/Winter 2013. Title fight Summer 2013, 20-22 months from now!! Yeeeeaaa-it's a long shot. Whatever. My avatar has been the same ever since I got here. :smoke

Alfonso Lopez says he is moving down to 160. That's the reason for the Lopez/Walker fight. If young David really wants a guy who can box a bit and put in rounds, Lopez would be a good choice.

Lemieux/Rubio was just your classic "the kid ****ed up" type fight. David seemed to assume he could steam roll a legit contender the same way he steam rolled all those bag ladies he fought. That's always a real danger when you pad the **** out of a young kid's record.

He's saying the right things and isn't showing the signs of delusions alot of guys do after their first loss...I'm looking forward to seeing if he's really learned from it or if he's just paying lip service. Hopefully it's the former...either way, he'll never be in a boring fight.

This is what I was thinking in the Rubio fight, he doesn't look fat, but does look like he could make 154 and may be a more natural ring weight for him. To me his size is better suited for junior middle.

I hope so, I like big hitters.

It may be an empty remark though... I heard Haye say something like that before the Wlad fight, and we got the exact same Haye as against Valuev.

But I like Canada and that's what it's all aboot, so... WAR LEMIEUX! :bbb
