Ortiz still hasn't learned his lesson

I'm starting to think that Ortiz is a pathological liar.

Ortiz didnt land to many and very few power punches and not one of them hurt Floyd, Floyd was hurt against Mosley but he had no trouble against Ortiz , and you are just a hater, and fan of greatest quitter ever!!

 

I don't hate Mayweather. I don't know him. And you are right, I am a fan of Ortiz, but I'm also a fan of Mayweather.

As far as there personal lives are concerned, it's personal and none of my business.

I can only comment about what I saw. If you saw something different, than you are subject to your own opinion, and that's fine with me.

bottom line, ortiz deserves a re-match... A mexican doesnt learn his lesson if he gets knocked out once, you have to do it again. And in this situation it wasnt even a legit KO in my mind! RE-MATCH.. RE-MATCH

 

Of course I didn't see Mayweather visibly hurt, especially considering Ortiz didn't land a punch with the magnitude that Mosley did on Floyd's head.

Not to mention the fact that part of Floyd's gameplan was to psychologically discourage Ortiz, so Mayweather would not show that he was hurt and his conditioning was good enough where in those few rounds, it is unlikey he would get hurt to begin with.

I've outlined everything that I felt he was doing wrong, but I suppose I can give you a quick summary.

Mayweather abandoned his body attack, had a much higher workrate than Ortiz, was throwing many shots with power, missing several, and his attack was becoming one dimensional and predictable, all predicated off his singular right hands which were landing at a high accuracy.

However, Ortiz began to get Floyd's timing down, and counters that landed successfuly earlier in the round, pushed Floyd outside of Ortiz' distance which caused Floyd to be short with many of his punches.

Ortiz began to adjust to these right hands and the ones that did land were starting to land on the top of Ortiz' head, or forehead. And the ones that hit him clean, didn't affect Ortiz enough to alter his gameplan or stop his momentum when he was aggressive.

Considering the effective body attack that Ortiz was putting together in a conservative attack, many of his punches getting around Mayweather's guard, his youth, and Mayweather's tactics as well as his excessive workrate, it is more likely that Mayweather would begin to get tired, and Ortiz size and strength was getting to him.

In addition, Ortiz was starting to time Mayweather and in some cases he landed first.

For an example of timing, in the fourth round, right before the headbutt, Mayweather AGAIN missed with a straight right hand, this time to the body, and then got off balance and rolled predictably to his right where Ortiz timed him and landed a big left hand and followed it up with more punches.

An example of Ortiz landing first is when Mayweather attempted to hook him off the corner, but Ortiz landed his right hook to the body first, followed by a left.

Mayweather was mostly throwing and landing singular shots that would likely weaken and dissipate because of Ortiz extensive bodywork, Floyd's workrate, and possibly his age.

These types of fights are usually won with an accumulation of work which Ortiz was building upon.

Floyd made a strategical error when he neglected to attack Ortiz' body and he opted to walk him down and throw mostly powershots.

If Mayweather didn't make serious adaptations, he would have suffered his first legitimate loss, and likely by KO.

 

If you can somehow deny that Ortiz bodyshots were landing despite visual and audio evidence, then please, dispute this.

Until then, you can believe what you want, but I'm laying out the fight like I saw it.
